    Cardas A8 IEM

No, they are not really superior to 846 in any way, with perhaps the thickness of the bass. The highs on the A8 are very recessed (yet actually quite extended), and are very, very, very warm earbuds. They simply can't fatigue you. They lack the sweet midrange of the shures. The 846 always...

    Cardas A8 IEM

I had to return mine as well. Left channel died within a week of ownership. Amazon took them back without question. Overall, the sound quality was good, but a bit over-rated. My reference point is the Earsonics SM-9, so I know there is no way it will approach that level of sound quality, but...

EarSonics' two flagships: the universal S-EM9, and new custom EM10.

yeah, just put a drop of that "deOxIt" conductive solution they sell online into the connector. It fixes it just fine! I don't remember if I used the "gold" or the "red" model, but it worked like a charm!

EarSonics' two flagships: the universal S-EM9, and new custom EM10.

Flinken is right on target with his review of the SEM9.   I waited for it to drop on amazon too, and it is well worth it. Good build quality, and for sound review, just look to Flinken's review. Speedy, dynamic, spacious. Only drawback is a sightly dry midrange.

EarSonics' two flagships: the universal S-EM9, and new custom EM10.

Thanks Raketen, I just found them online and are going to give them a try!   I wish they made oval tips like the Klipsch ones in a larger bore to fit different IEMs. I have one of the old X12 models and they fit like a dream. The thing is that they only fit nozzles around 3mm or so. No way to...

EarSonics' two flagships: the universal S-EM9, and new custom EM10.

Regarding treble-spikes, The only thing I have notice so far is that on certain tracks where there are very forward vocals, at higher "concert-level" SPL, there is a resonance that is annoying. My thought is that it is one of the double flange tips picking up a harmonic. If I hold the IEMs in...

yes, the ASG-2.5...a fun, spacious, hard-hitting IEM. Does some things better than 846, but they are both wonderful

Are you sure about that? I would hate to be in a situation where they say, "ship it to us and we will take a look at it".....then get the replacement 6 weeks later!!

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

That is the same production date as mine. Shure definitely had a bad batch and it is probably why amazon has pulled them. Because of that, I decided against getting an immediate replacement. The odds are too great for getting a bad set. ....Then again, amazon is great about returns, so there is...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

yep, same exact problem on a 12/2013 build...bought through Amazon's vendor system and were delivered last week. Right side bud has buzzing noise at lowish volume at any vibratory signal (bass guitar for example). Sent them back to Sam Ash for a replacement. The loudest example was on the Dave...

Who DOESN'T like the Panasonic HJE900?

I bought the earbuds in response to the rave reviews here. I don't agree with those reviews.... I can't say they are bad, certainly not for $80! But, to be critical of them is easy. Specifically, there is a nasty, brittle harshness around 8K Hz and 12K Hz. This mid-treble nastiness is fatiguing...
