Which headphones do you use for PC gaming?
Beyerdynamic T90. It's the best headphone I have, so that's what I use. No microphone, but I couldn't care less about that.- VolkswagenFox

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I too tried the DT880 pads. The treble became smeared and everything from the midbass down went away. Not good at all.- VolkswagenFox

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I'm honestly a bit surprised about all the talk of sibilant treble. I'm quite sensitive to treble, so headphones like Grados and Alessandros are very fatiguing to listen to. But I have no problems with the T90. People say that the T90 is like a DT880 with more treble, but I disagree. The DT880's...- VolkswagenFox

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I read that some people where bothered by the treble. How does the treble compare to the DT880? Is the T90's detailed presentation perhaps due to a treble spike?- VolkswagenFox

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
Quote: Thanks, that's very useful. Bigger soundstage, more body to the sound, and more detail, without straying away from the DT880 sound signature is exactly what I want. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on these.- VolkswagenFox

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I've been thinking of upgrading from my DT880 to the T90. I like the 880's sound signature, though I'd like a bit more weight in the bass and a wider soundstage. Is the T90 similar in sound signature to the DT880? If not, how different are they?- VolkswagenFox

Review by 'VolkswagenFox' on item 'Shure SE215'
I've been a fan of Shure IEMs for a while. I had the E2c, E3c (two of them), and SE210 previously. Problem was the cable over-the-ear design. The cable going over the ear sucked in moisture, became hard and brittle, and finally broke. I wore my E3c like earbuds, which thankfully saved them from...- VolkswagenFox

Review by 'VolkswagenFox' on item 'Alessandro MS-1'
These where my first good full-sized headphones and have served as my main headphones for home use since 2007 until recently (2013). At $100 these are a good price, especially for people living outside of the US where Grados are just way too expensive. The sound is relatively flat, but the...- VolkswagenFox

Why would anyone want just one headphone?
Cost is often a factor, not everyone can afford multiple headphones. Personally, I want the most neutral and revealing headphone I can afford, and another more coloured pair for bad recordings.- VolkswagenFox

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!
Hey all. I've been thinking of upgrading from my Shure SE215 to something more neutral. SE215s are just too boomy. My spending limit is $300. I'll be using them with my laptop and iPod without an headphone amp (at least not at the moment). I listen to all kinds of music ranging from classical to...- VolkswagenFox

WORST headphone you ever heard?
The worst headphones I've ever heard was a pair of JVC earbuds that were 7 bucks. My Shure E2c broke, so I get these as an emergency pair to get me by until my newly ordered Shure E3c arrived. Tinniest things I've ever heard. You had to really crank the volume to hear anything, and even then it...- VolkswagenFox

Schiit Lyr - The tube rolling thread
I ordered a set of socket savers as well as a matched set of Gold Lions. The Lyr is my first tube amp, so I'm pretty excited about trying out different tubes and seeing how the sound will change.- VolkswagenFox

How many hours straight can you wear a "comfortable" set of headphones?
Beyers all day long. Grados maybe an hour or two, but the longer I wear them the more breathers I need to take and eventually my ears just hurt. IEMs are the most comfortable for me. I can wear them for long as I want without any discomfort.- VolkswagenFox

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
1.) Beyerdynamic DT880 2.) Alessandro MS-1 3.) Shure SE215 Wasn't that hard honestly. DT880 is the clear winner from the ones I own.- VolkswagenFox

Is burn in real or placebo?
Quote: Not something I considered when doing the test. I just redid the test using the more worn (more comfortable) pads. Same outcome as before. There is a noticable difference between the two, but one wouldn't mistake them for a different model.- VolkswagenFox

Is burn in real or placebo?
Me and my dad both have a pair of Alessandro MS-1's back in 2007 or 2008. Both sounded the same in the beginning. My dad's MS-1 have been used considerably less than mine, and five years later the difference is quite obvious. Mine sound more "full", while his are more thin with a bit of a...- VolkswagenFox

I'm now a proud owner of a Lyr! I'm quite impressed with it, even with my Alessandro MS-1. I'm still waiting for my Beyerdynamic DT880s to arrive. One of the tubes is a bit noisy, but it mostly goes away after it's warmed up. Only got about 3 hours on them, so I'll give it more time to...- VolkswagenFox
