AMB beta22 - hum issue, no idea where it comes from
Hi there, I just finished my one-case 2ch beta 22 and have some annoying hum on the output. Also with the volume turned down completely there's some kind of hiss. I followed AMBs wiring scheme correctly I think... The RCA-jacks have no contact to the case and are isolated from each other...- Sathimas

looking for construction data to make my own Th X00 Cups
Hi there, I'd like to create my own cups for the Th X00 and so I am looking for some help. Of course I could simply measure everything, but I think there are people here that have done that before and eventually with better tools and techniques. I have access to a fearly good lathe and...- Sathimas

Can a Tangent TREAD accept DC input?
Hi there, I built two tangent tread power supplies some years ago and used them for my jisbos buffers. I'd like to know if they can be powered from the +/- 24V AUX-output of a B&O Icepower module?- Sathimas

Problems with power supply from high-amp.de (for electrostatic phones)
Hi together, I am currently building the "Transistoramp V4.0" amp designed by Andreas Rauenbuehler. You can find the layout, partslist and circuit on the website high-amp.de (scroll down on the left for English version) Now my problem is that the power supply is not...- Sathimas

DIY Phono-Preamp - no tubes, max. 130$ incl. enclosure
Hi there, since I gave my NAD PP2 PhonoPreAmp to my father I now need a new phono-preamp. I am looking for a solid state amp, no tubes this time. I also do not want to spend too much money since my EHHA already becomes much more expansive than I thought. (As my DIY-Projects...- Sathimas

Liked the GE6680 in the SOHA - what tube should I get for an EHHA?
I'm about to get a kit for an EHHA rev.A and started thinking about the tubes. I started my DIY-Career with a SOHA, later on I added the jisbos buffers. I did some tube-rolling and liked the GE 6680 best. (Not depending on the phones) (I also built a SOHA II, a Mini³, a M³ and another...- Sathimas

Strange hum in SOHA II (getting louder, turning into hiss and disappearing in about 3min)
I have a strange problem with my SOHA II. When I turn the amp on there's a relatively quiet hum in the background. That hum does not change with the volume - it stays constant. Over several minutes ( two or three ...) it becomes louder, then a quiet hiss joins in. Then this hiss...- Sathimas

Balanced BassBoost Circuit for eXStatA - how to do?
I am currently gathering materials for my exstata and want to integrate a bassboost. (Which will be bypass-able per switch) I am using a STAX SR303 - most of the time I really love their sound but sometimes the low end is just a little too thin. I know next to nothing about filters of...- Sathimas

AMB e12 not working, Voltage too low ~ 13,4V
Hi there, as always when I build something, it doesn't work right away from the start Well, I exagerate - bot sometimes it really seems so. My e12 - newly added to my M³ does not work. If I turn on power there no click, Voltage reading across the OPA pins is ~13,4Volts both (4/7) and...- Sathimas

Noise-free portable amp for TF10, low gain
Hello, I'm looking for a really noise-free amp for my TF10.pro. At the moment I'm using a AMB Mini³ (Gain2) which sounds great but generates clearly hearable noise. The amp should not be bigger than the Mini³ and sound at least as good as the Mini³. Also it should not be too expensive...- Sathimas

AMB M³ DC offset on right channel to high - what mistake should I look for?
Hello, I just finished my AMB M³ and have the following problem: The DC offset between IG and OR measures ~ 5,3Volts - much to high. I already posted this over at headwize, maybe somebody here had a similar problem and could give me some advice what problem to search for - a short or...- Sathimas

Mini³ extended runtime quiescent current draw to high?
Hello, I just finished my Mini³ and I'm going through the initial checks. But when measuring the quiescent current draw as shown on AMBs site, I get 15mA instead of 10mA. I'm kind of worried since the difference is very high. Where could the problem be? Up to that point there where...- Sathimas

SOHA producing distortions on loud notes/ high dynamics
Hello, after lots of sweat and fear, I had my SOHA running perfectly and was amazed by the sound. For my test setup I used only one RCA input, connected to the board through a source selector switch. (2pin 6 positions, I do not switch ground, thats permanently connected.) Now I added...- Sathimas
