NAD 3020 vs NAD 1020A?
Well, I've bought it... Together with a 2150 amp with a blown fuse, defective cassette deck (6050C) and a 4125 tuner. All for about $120. I think it's a good deal. But we'll see when I get it... I don't like what I hear about the DT770's, though. Hopefully they'll perform better with my...- Freddi

NAD 3020 vs NAD 1020A?
Yes, it is the preamp only. I plan on using it as a headphone amp together with a tt, so the main questions are if the phono in and headphone out are as good? Are they exactely the same except for the amp bit?- Freddi

NAD 3020 vs NAD 1020A?
Anyone know how the 1020A holds up against the classic 3020? I've gotten the opportunity to buy a 1020A for next to nothing, but I don't know much about it...- Freddi

Receiver as phono preamp and headphone amp
Came across a few Tandberg, but none of the ones you specified. I have no Idea if these are any good. Haven't done much research on Tandberg yet... I guess I should, being from Norway and all. Am I allowed to make a list like this? I hope so... TANDBERG TR 1040A(AM-FM STEREO...- Freddi

Receiver as phono preamp and headphone amp
Thanks for the reply, guys! I didn't know preamps have headphone line out... so that's how much I know, for ya. I'll look into the preamp market here, but my hopes are not that big. Yesterday I did some searches for Fischer, Marantz 22xx, McIntosh and Sansui. Results: nada. So this...- Freddi

Receiver as phono preamp and headphone amp
I'm going to make use of my mom's old turntable soon. I'm thinking of setting up a small vinyl listening station and need some advice. I've been checking out some cheapish new phono preamps (Cambridge, NAD) and was going to buy one. I was planning to connect it up to my surround receiver...- Freddi

I've been doing some research and I see them going for about $30 over here. So I guess they're not considered that interesting for collectors either...- Freddi

Anyone recognise this old headphone?
Can't find any better pictures of them. I think the auction is over. It said that they were probably used with a crystal radio. With means really, really old in my book.- Freddi

Anyone recognise this old headphone?
Good thing I asked about them then... I was thinking of cancelling my long awaited DT770's. Would be fun to check out the sound in them anyways. Would probably sound horrible!- Freddi

Koss Portapro problem
I'll try and clean it first. I have a long history of breaking things, so I have to convince myself it's safe... On the Koss norwegian homepage it says that the warranty can not be claimed without the original receipt shown. And that the headset should be delivered in the store they were...- Freddi

Koss Portapro problem
The left phone on my portapro has started making some "scratching" sounds sometimes. Mostly on prominent bass. It goes away by itself after a while. The headset is maybe 6 years old, so the receipt is long gone. Koss won't fix it for free without this. Maybe some of you know what the problem...- Freddi

Taste in music change?
I used to be a hard core punk lover, but now I find myself listening more and more to music my father would like... Can't wait to take a new look on his 200+ LP collection from the 70's and 80's though! Think I have to give him a visit soon... -

Difference between good and bad cd players?
Loving the info here! Although my wallet is less pleased How is the error correction in a DVD player compared to a CD player? Anyone looked into this?- Freddi

Difference between good and bad cd players?
I'm trying to understand how this works... A good CD-player doesn't just pick up the signals from the CD and send them to the digital out, but it actually "adds something extra" that sounds good? If not, what is it that makes the difference soundwise? Feel free to direct me to a site that...- Freddi

Difference between good and bad cd players?
Some good advices there... I actually get a better image from the DVD player on the pc than on the dedicated DVD player. Why bother with the expencive DVD and CD players? I think the most important thing (when going for digital out) is to upgrade the amp and get some extra speakers. I guess...- Freddi

My first portable amp, the Minibox-d!
So I just received the Minibox-d, and wow! I never thought the difference would be so noticable! I've tried it with my ipod 3rd gen driving a pair of Koss portapro headphones off the headphone out. This is my first headphone amp, and I bought it to be able to drive a set of DT770 (which I've...- Freddi

what are you drinking right now..
I've been trying out different wines from California lately as I'm going there this summer. Some real good ones, but as we have a monopoly on alcohol here the sortiment isn't all that great... Tonight I'm drinking Fetzer 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. I'm loving it! If you know of any...- Freddi

Difference between good and bad cd players?
Infact, I already got some equipment... Just updated my sig, so I hope it'll all be there. I figure I'll need a new amp to play dts-sound. The DVD-player is total and utter crap (image hangs!). The two speakers could stay, but they'll probably be out of proportion with the new speakers witch...- Freddi
