NorCal 8/8/09 meet impressions
It was great to get back into Headfi after a little break. The Norcal meets are amazing as usual, with lots of stunning gear to listen to. I was so happy to finally plug in the HE90 into an amp and hear that it wasnt injured by my broken ES-1. Hearing them after a year was nice too:P As usual... -

NorCal/SF Bay Area Meet 8/8/2009
Hey guys, Thinking of coming to this meet with the HE90 though. I'm having some problems with my ES-1, thinking it is the tubes. Hopefully I can get it straightened out. EDIT The left channel is all messed up. I thought maybe it was a tube problem. However, I have changed tons of tubes...- strungoutt1

NorCal Summer Meet Saturday 6/28/2008
If there is still room, I can make it to the meet. I think I read somewhere, that Neil needs an amp for his stats? I can always bring my es-1, although id rather not given its weight.- strungoutt1

How thick are Virtual Dynamics cables?
Very, very thick. Also hard to bend. They will pick up a light amp/source because of their stiffness. They are so massive, that I have heard stories of them actually breaking the RCA jacks on a source/amp. And this was only the RCA connection, the XLR is twice as large. The RCA's are already the... -

Stealth Metacarbon
http://www.stealthaudiocables.com/pr...metacarbon.htm Anyone have any experience with the metacarbon cable made by stealth? I am considering a XLR version for my interconnect. There have been many great reviews of the Stealth Indra cable, and supposedly the Metacarbon has 90-95% of the...- strungoutt1

why so many singlepower amps for sale? ***3 months later I own one and it is amazing.
They are all good amps. Because they all went on sale at once, it scared a lot of potenial buyers away.- strungoutt1

ES2 Stack [Stacky McStacka'licious]
Power Tubes - EL34 "Fat Boy" 6CA7 (GE) Phase/Mid Stage Tubes - 6SN7 GT Hytron Driver Tubes - Jan-CEA 2C51 Bendix (using tube adapters) Im using the same exact tubes in my ES-1. For quite some time now I have been thinking about switching my source. Im not looking to purchase anything new. SACD capability would be nice, but redbook is my #1 priority.- strungoutt1

I would suggest not trying to impress the opposite sex with headphones. Just doesnt pan out. Muscles work a lot better. Money too!- strungoutt1

What happened in this world?
It's simple supply and demand. Demand keeps rising at a steady rate, while supply is stuck for these headphones.- strungoutt1

Car Trouble Question for Car Experts (Camry)
The timing belt is somthing to check right off the bat. You dont really adjust that, you have it replaced. And it depends on if its chain or belt driven for how hard/pricey that is. It is a regular maintence item that needs to be replaced depending on what type of belt.- strungoutt1

For those of you who have very high end headphones.
I have a pair of L3000's. They are amazing. They pretty much bested all the top end phones at the meet this year in San Jose, except for the R10 and the Orpheus. Im not too interested in owning an orpheus, too fragile and expensive. So that leaves the R10 left. I sure would love to own one of...- strungoutt1
