ZMF Auteur Thread
The Verite is using oxidized silkwood. My understanding is that this means the aging of the wood has been accelerated through some process. I guess the silk Auteurs may eventually darken over time?- Fetou

Would be very interested in some sort of combo discount for this with the Verite. Was there anything like that when the Atticus and Eikon came out?- Fetou

I feel like this price impression on the Utopia is somewhat out of date. It can be had for $2,500. They are very much competing with each other, in my opinion.- Fetou

Per one of Zach's earlier posts, "stock wood on Verite will be oxidized silk. We're likely going with silk oak for the Aeolus." No word on the limiteds yet.- Fetou

Agreed. I really didn't expect to get any hits when I threw that out there. Listening to the Auteur right now and am very happy with the early impressions.- Fetou

This is a longshot, but anybody in the Philly/NJ area that has a dual mini-XLR style cord I could borrow or buy locally? Just got my Auteur but won't be able to get a cable until about Thursday at the earliest.- Fetou

Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone
This will probably change over time, as I find mental burn-in to be a very real phenomenon. My very early impressions of the LCD-X are as follows. For your reference, I have been listening almost exclusively to the Focal Elex for over a week: 1) Hello sub-bass. Welcome to headphones. These...- Fetou

Audeze LCD-X
If the discrepancy between new and used were a bit smaller I would consider it. At $1,200, that's more than the used cost + driver repair. The warranty of the replacement drivers is a nice touch though. I am still excited for the arrival.- Fetou

Audeze LCD-X
That is outrageous. I just bought a used pair for like $750, so that's pretty much the bulk of the market value of the phones. These are going to have to be really transcendent for me to risk holding IMO given everything I have read about Audeze's history.- Fetou

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
For me, I can't tolerate the DT1990 without EQ. Too bright and ear shattering. Really shines after I switched to Analytical pads and brought down the 7-8k region. Only marginally! The DT1990 is beautiful and well constructed IMO. Other beyers mostly can't compare.- Fetou

Did you ever get to try the Beyers against the Elex directly? I have the 1990 and the Elex and I think the Elex is going to drive me to sell the 1990, despite it being such a great all-arounder when the high end is eq'd down.- Fetou

Audeze LCD-X
Does anyone have the most recent driver repair prices for the LCD-X? I just bought an older pair used (2015 or earlier, not sure), and will not have any warranty coverage. I'm a little concerned about owning them. Is there any insight on what causes them to fail? My hope is that at this age...- Fetou

Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone
Can anyone give a comparison between the ATH-AD2000 and these headphones? I don't have a lot of references to compare to. I'm assuming these will be more neutral and less forward in the mid-range, and overall on the brighter side? Any insight is appreciated. I got the headphone bug that only...- Fetou

Dunu DN-2000 - Hybrid Impressions Thread (It's Here!)
Is there anything I can do to make the "s" sound in vocals, especially female vocals, stop hissing like a snake? I'm liking these in a lot of ways but at the volume I like to listen at, the high end is very harsh and detracts from the experience.- Fetou
