So, let's go through the logic here- on April 20, you posted something seriously questioning the authenticity of a musician's review, insinuating that basically all the Chinese are in on something; then somehow you decided to buy exactly those headphones. May I ask why?

I think it depends on your use scenario- I'm quite happy with my HEKse and Sundara-C so not buying them just yet, but if I had neither I might pull the trigger. The biggest plus of Audivina is being able to hear things in a HE1000 family sort of way, especially proper bass, when your listening...

I had the good forture to hear both Audivina and HE-1000v2 side by side. My impression is similar to most in this thread- very spacious sound for a pair of closed headphones, and a clear lineage from the HE1000 family

I'm very curious to see how these can be modded. There isn't as much "air" on top as open back Hifimans, and I suspect it's the foamy material around the drivers that's absorbing a lot of the HF sounds.

They are not very forgiving of bad recordings in a way that if a recording sounds hollow, they will reveal it. The bottom sounds wetter than the upper parts, perhaps it's the foam around the drivers absorbing some of that hf.

So...it turns out Hifiman really liked my past reviews. They liked it enough to send me the new Sundara Closed-back for me to sample. How exciting! I guess I would be taking this review a little more seriously this time and actually take my time to describe more aspects of the headphones...

I have heard them. The sound is very close to an R10D, and miles ahead of Airpods Max.

I think you can tell from appearance. The "grills" of the new version protrudes from the housing more, and have a matte finish.
