Introducing HIFIMAN AUDIVINA--New Closed-Back Planar Headphones!

I wonder whether the sound is leaking from the crevices, earpads, or coming through the wood?

Introducing HIFIMAN AUDIVINA--New Closed-Back Planar Headphones!

So, let's go through the logic here- on April 20, you posted something seriously questioning the authenticity of a musician's review, insinuating that basically all the Chinese are in on something; then somehow you decided to buy exactly those headphones. May I ask why?

Introducing HIFIMAN AUDIVINA--New Closed-Back Planar Headphones!

You keep signing your name as Simonel, but your unboxing video reveals the headphones belong to Noam Eitan in Brooklyn, NY. Care to explain yourself a bit? That aside, how can a pair of headphones sound both thin/metallic and opaque/dull at the same time? When I tried them for the first time...

Introducing HIFIMAN AUDIVINA--New Closed-Back Planar Headphones!

I think it depends on your use scenario- I'm quite happy with my HEKse and Sundara-C so not buying them just yet, but if I had neither I might pull the trigger. The biggest plus of Audivina is being able to hear things in a HE1000 family sort of way, especially proper bass, when your listening...

Introducing HIFIMAN AUDIVINA--New Closed-Back Planar Headphones!

I had the good forture to hear both Audivina and HE-1000v2 side by side. My impression is similar to most in this thread- very spacious sound for a pair of closed headphones, and a clear lineage from the HE1000 family

Introducing HIFIMAN AUDIVINA--New Closed-Back Planar Headphones!

Aren't you that guy who accused both Hifiman and a certain violinist of being Chinese? I'm not surprised your hateful post got removed. Maybe get used to the idea that irresponsible remarks will lower your credibility infinitely close to zero.

Hi Satriany, I haven't owned the Heddphone, so can't reliably tell you.

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

I'm very curious to see how these can be modded. There isn't as much "air" on top as open back Hifimans, and I suspect it's the foamy material around the drivers that's absorbing a lot of the HF sounds.

I don't find them to be picky with sources, it might be a musical taste thing. They do intimate music really well, but large scale music recorded in large, reverbrant spaces are better with open-back Hifimans

Review by 'carloskleiber' on item 'HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back'

So...it turns out Hifiman really liked my past reviews. They liked it enough to send me the new Sundara Closed-back for me to sample. How exciting! I guess I would be taking this review a little more seriously this time and actually take my time to describe more aspects of the headphones...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN Sundara Closed-Back

They are not very forgiving of bad recordings in a way that if a recording sounds hollow, they will reveal it. The bottom sounds wetter than the upper parts, perhaps it's the foam around the drivers absorbing some of that hf.

Review by 'carloskleiber' on item 'Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro-80 Closed Studio Headphones'

I have owned two pairs of DT770 Pro’s in my life. The first pair was from when I was a teenager, and the second pair was from last year, in my 30’s. I didn’t like my DT770’s as a teen. Perhaps I was feeding them the wrong kind of music back then- I was looking for the grandeur of Beethoven...

Introducing the HIFIMAN EF400 Balanced Desktop DAC/Amplifier!

Howdy y'all, Here's my little EF400 impression: Hifiman EF400 Pros: Lush, natural sound Powers planar headphones with authority, even the notoriously hard-to-drive ones Nice design with plenty of outputs Works with anything from a computer to a smartphone. Even works with some DAWs Cons: Lack...

Review by 'carloskleiber' on item 'HIFIMAN EF400'

I can’t remember when I first saw the announcement of the EF400, but it was the reason I went out and bought myself a pair of HE6se. Somehow in the back of my mind, I was counting on those two being a good pairing. Of course, the EF400 kept me waiting a few months, during which I lost my...

Introducing the HIFIMAN EF400 Balanced Desktop DAC/Amplifier!

I don't think I'll ever go the Susvara route, so I'm not going to care too much about that particular pairing...I am very curious about pairing with Arya and HE6se however. Now, if this proves to be as much of a steal as the Edition Xs, I might have to give it a try...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN HE-R9!

I simply can't believe you, unless there's something really wrong with your pair. I auditioned them next to DT770, R10D, ATH-W5000 and thought they sounded fairly good. My daily drivers are Aryas and HE-6se, I agree it's a very different sound from open-back planars, but nowhere near what you're...

    Introducing the HIFIMAN HE-R9!

If I remember correctly, the left side accepts a balanced 3.5mm cable or the bluetooth adapter; you can also run mono 3.5mm to both sides, bypassing the internal wiring which is hidden in a groove in the metal. ahead of Airpods Max

    Introducing the HIFIMAN HE-R9!

I have heard them. The sound is very close to an R10D, and miles ahead of Airpods Max.

I have actually tried connecting Deva pro's new R2R bluetooth dongle to a non-BT Ananda, and we all liked it a lot. Looking forward to what they come up with next.

Hi ishmaelk, I realized my recording lacked bass because the new Arya has better bass, and I'm able to hear how other recordings has bass that this one lacks...on the old Arya I couldn't hear bass as well, and when I compared my recordings to other people's, I didn't particularly notice this...

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

I think you can tell from appearance. The "grills" of the new version protrudes from the housing more, and have a matte finish.

Thank you, sir. It's been a decade since I last posted on Head-fi. It's great to know there are other professionals out there who use them for work.
