I originally posted about HQP potentially creating pops when using Direct DSD, but after long debugging I found out that adding and trimming silence when upsampling into DSD, PGGB creates pops into some DSD files. I leave this comment here in case someone else get similar problems.

Indeed, PGGB DSD is an endgame. My May absolutely loves PGGB'd DSD1024 and my computer absolutely hates it :)

You indeed may have been lucky, but also source rate matters. I don't have problems with basic hires either, but problems start at DXD rates and higher. I had white noise problems even with Hugo 2 + 2Go a few times when using 7xx rates from card, especially when changing rates.
