    DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***

I just hope iBasso's engineers are up to the task. If they understand what neutral sound-signature means, and if they have competent engineers and beta listeners with golden ears, then we will probably end-up with the holy grail, because we all know the latest ESS SABRE DAC is about as good as...

You got me wrong. I care about reasonable pricing and affordability, but I don't care if I get banned for simply speaking a few well-known truths, that's what I meant. I am keen on the DX200 and yes iBasso has a good reputation, I think they are a good company, like FiiO is a good company, but I...

FTR, It's not about bitterness for me. A free market means companies have carte-blanche to charge what they wish according to their target market or according to supply-&-demand, simple as that, and I'm a Westerner, and so I believe a free market is the only way to go and always will be, but I...

The truth cuts like a knife to the bone, every time, makes them up-in-arms, very predictable.   And I never mentioned a thing about how or why people make their money, you've twisted my post out of all context, just like Hillary and her cronies.

$499 and I'll buy, since it only costs iBasso $149 to manufacture it, $350 is more than enough profit, then also ten times as many people will buy it.   $999 is out of reach for most buyers and just plain greedy, enough of these mama's boys who are happy to make paper planes out of $100 bills...

I noticed the 80ohm version of the DT880 doesn't sound as good as the 250ohm version. I like the 250ohm version a lot, but seriously the 80ohm version is lower than my farts Lol

My comment about the cost to manufacture the iPhone was simply to show the profit margins involved in the sale of tech products, I was not at all suggesting or inferring that Apple's buying power related to economies-of-scale can be matched by DAP makers.   And considering that Smartphones...

I have no idea when the X5 3rd-gen will be released, but I'm waiting eagerly for it.       You said: "Once a certain price is reached then the SQ will be almost identical between players, the only real difference will be their respective house sound, after that its features and build...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Many of today's music producers are obsessed with treble brightness, they think it gives their songs more credibility or impact, as if their songs will sound more impressive, so they boost all frequencies above 5kHz with a shelf EQ by about 3db all the way up to 20kHz, but I would suggest...

I assumed the HD800 is the same price as the HD800S, I didn't know that Sennie is still selling the HD800 as a lower-tier model. Personally I will never spend more than $400 on a headphone, and it has me eyes-wide-open and writhing if ever I do spend near that. Even at $400 AFAIC it better...

Your forgot to say it'll cost him $1600 extra to get the HD800, thus not a realistic suggestion, more a pipe-dream. Clearly you have a money tree outside your door.    All the hoopla about the so-called peakiness in the HD600 is hyperbole AFAIC. I myself am very sensitive to such...

+1   Very annoying how teams of engineers and designers manage to lose sight of interface logic and hardware design, I find it irksome and annoying, especially because the design is set in stone. They need to use their brain, otherwise the product sucks for all concerned, especially the...

That's why only 0.01% of DAP buyers purchase those. Everyone knows the AK is a money-spinner for Astell-&-Kern < they've tapped-into the 'perception' market, just like Apple.

All-up the "iPhone 6S Plus" officially costs Apple $245 to manufacture all-up, components, manufacturing, shipping, everything, and look how much Apple sells it for.   The high-end DACs in these DAP players only cost around $20 < and those are the best ones. All the other components are...

The HD600 is not a 20 year old headphone for no reason, it has stood the test of time! It has a sound that currently no other headphone can outperform. Never mind the fact that it's not perfect (I'm yet to meet perfection anywhere on earth) or that other newer headphones have bass power or...

At roughly $1000 for the DX200, it better have a magic wand supplied in the box, otherwise it's too expensive for me.   I'll wait for the FiiO X5 3rd gen < I anticipate this will be in the pro league audiowise, and it will be upgraded with enough power to drive an HD600, and the new DAC will...

You said: "I guess the stylus pen goes into the headphone out to play the stations through speakers without using data." < this comment doesn't make any sense, why would the Stylus pen need to be plugged into the headphone out? The Stylus pen has it's own slot.   Regardless, the DAB...

The HD598 is a very warm headphone, and has a slightly congested sound, it's not expansive. The tone is not neutral, and it's not exactly a detailed powerhouse. The bass is no more or no less than the HD600, just different.    IMO the HD600 sound-signature is better overall, more balanced...

"DAPs that Offer FM Radio too"

Chinky, fizzy, static with FM radio.   What would be much better is a DAP with DAB Radio. I had a DAP from iRiver 5 years ago which had DAB Radio, and the sound was great, no interference or static, and it allowed me to record the songs too! The signal is much more reliable with DAB.

Review by 'UtopiaB' on item 'FiiO X1-II High Resolution Lossless Music Player (2nd Generation) (Silver)'

Firmware 1.4.1           I've done A/B listening sessions (out of simple curiosity) with two other quality DACs, and with songs which I'm extremely familiar with, and the X1 2nd-gen's performance is nothing spectacular, it's not atrocious, but it's not amazing either.       1: In the...
