If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

For reference, here are the stock connectors compared with the aftermarkets. Huge difference. FWIW - been using the stock cable, and they are much more comfortable now ... I feel the discomfort I'm associating with these, is not inside the ear, but at the entry point. The smaller connector means...

So following up on the earlier post about double vs triple flange - I've gone back to the triple flage (large). For me, they are no more, or less comfortable than the doubles. What I am doing now though, is going back to stock cables. I was using aftermarket for a while, and the connector end on...

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

So I've been using the new tips for a couple of weeks - feel like I still need to spend more time with them to get an overall feel (as I was using the triple flange tips for close to 2-3 months). Quick comparisons: • They are not necessarily more comfortable. They feel pretty good in the ear...

I'm trying out the dual flanges this week, and I'll keep y'all posted. So far, slightly more comfortable than the triple, but I'll get a better feel after a few days. Might mess around with the sizes too (the medium ones pretty much fell out right away!) They don't feel like the isolate as well...

Can't confirm date, but I bought a pair of ER4SR on Drop, and they came with the dial flanges. Can't believe I haven't tried them! Everything I read said that triple flange was the way to go - in hindsight, a lot of those comments seem to predate these new double flanges. Eager to try them, and...

    Musiland Monitor 02 US

I recently bought a musiland monitor 03, and am currently using it at work. I'm really enjoying it, but I have noticed that it can be a bright, or harsh during certain passages. Does it settle down after a while ? I plan on playing pink noise through it while I'm not at work, get some hours on it.

    Xonar Essence STX: Sneak Peek!

Sorry if this has been covered, but I've been unable to find much info on the recording capabilities of these cards. I'm building a new PC, and want to start doing 24/96 recordings of my vinyl collection. How does this card do in that regard (compared to cards like the m-audio 2496, or emu...

Black Gate K Series Vs. Film...

On a similar not though, most large value film caps (well, any film cap really), is going to be rated for a crazy high voltage (250V +), when all you may really need is 20V ... Will the film cap still be advantageous ?

    AKG k601 repair

Well I managed to fix them over the weekend Opening the suckers is a bit of a pain, but keeping them still while soldering those fragile little wires is annoying ! Why man hasn't evolved a third arm, I dunno ...

    AKG k601 repair

The one going in, left channel. I'm sure it'll just be the signal wire, cause if the ground came loose, then both channels will be gone. Just hope there's enough slack for a good connection.

    AKG k601 repair

Hey all. So yesterday, the left channel of my k601 failed. It came back for a second, but the moment I adjusted the cans, the line dropped out. Will it be a safe assumption that there's a loose wire in there ? I did a resistance test on the actual jack, and measures 118 ohm between ground...

AKG K530 or K601 - allround headphones for work

I've been using K601s at work (amped though), and think they rule ! Can wear them for hours on end, and not get tired. And personally, when coupled with a decent amp (never even bothered unamped), I've found they have very tight, solid bass, not boomy at all.
