USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I have downloaded the full version of USB Audio Player Pro already and the above happens. Re: powered USB hub - can you give an example of the type of device on Amazon? And do I connect this directly to the phone or connect the phone to the OTG cable, then to the hub and then to the DAC?

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Can anyone help with some troubleshooting? My device (Motorola G7) has OTG model/ USB host and recognises my DAC (Topping DX3) fine. However, no sounds appears to be going via USA (although the phone seems to think it's sending music as when I unplug the USB cable it says 'unable to send data...

Just to add - if anyone's interested, I did a bit of playing around and as one of a few tweaks to get this to work, I set the PS5 sound output device to 'AV Amplifier' rather than 'TV.' This may have helped, although I haven't tested - it may just be that the Amazon splitter was a bit temperamental.

I can report that a £10 splitter from Amazon does work. :) PS5 is reporting 120fps and audio is fine. It was a little temperamental at first but it got there. One output is sending 120fps to the TV (actually a monitor) and the other is sending audio to the A8. Yes I do have the HDMI version. It...

I've had a look back and I think I'm misremembering what was said before - ignore my previous post!

I wasn't expecting it but the splitter approach does seem to work. I say 'seems to' because I tried it with a switcher rather than a splitter. With a switcher I can get either video to the TV or audio to the Realizer (without passing through the Realizer) but not both at the same time. I'm...

Thank you - that's interesting. Your answer (1) is different from a previous answer I had on this thread! Could I ask a completely different question? I'm currently using an A8 to play on PS5 but it will not allow HDMI passthrough at 120fps - even if I set the PS5 to output HDMI 1.4 rather...

If I have a 7.1 PRIR recorded on an A8, is it possible to 'implant' this into a 24 channel BRIR? Or can it only be 'adapted' for an 8 channel BRIR?

Have you still got the SRM-717? If so, do you think you could set up a volume matched blind test vs the KGSSHV mini?

    The Stax Thread III

Thanks, that's understood! (I have repeatedly stressed how little I know...) Is the same true for the arguments that were being made earlier about the voltage swing requirements/ the difficulty of achieving the required output current with an electrostatic amp (i.e. the output level of the DAC...

Can you explain why it would "clip all the same" if it's being pushed less hard? Or am I missing the point?

    The Stax Thread III

Another thing I don't understand (and I'm really going to show my ignorance here...) Suppose I use a Topping D90. The RCA outputs 2Vrms. The balanced outputs 4Vrms. So can I just easily increase the power (and therefore the sound quality) just by using the balanced?

    The Stax Thread III

I'm not sure if this is tongue in cheek but as you've probably realised, you might re-launch the power debate with this comment... there are quite strong opinions on both sides about it. ;) If it isn't a tongue in cheek comment then you can read back through the thread to see some forcefully...

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

Thanks Joe. By the way, I looked earlier in the thread and you said you were considering abolishing this feature because it could confuse some customers (i.e. like me!) I would keep it if I were you - it's a good feature provided you explain in the manual or somewhere that the choice of volume...

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

Hi Joe... sorry to bug you again! I am trying plugging this into an amp which can take 30V in so no issue here. I can't immediately hear any distortion at 100% volume using line out. Is there any reason to believe that high volumes from line out would cause distortion? I'd rather just leave it...

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

Thanks for the reply - it's good to have someone from Hiby responding. I've read back over some of the prior discussions of this and I can see that people have been saying that there is audible distortion on the line out if the volume is turned too high. Is this likely to be accurate/ what...

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

Just quoting this post from ages ago... I'm considering buying an R6 but was surprised to see this. Does the R6 not have a "clean" line out that bypasses the internal amp?

Astell & Kern KANN - DAP with Massive Storage & Battery

Hmmm... and the Kann Cube... can you get a docking station for that? I mean it's not something that's going to be regularly carried around, surely? :)

Astell & Kern KANN - DAP with Massive Storage & Battery

Just jumping into this thread... a couple of question: (i) With all the firmware discussions, is it expected that the new firmware will allow OpenApp support? (ii) Is it possible to get a docking station for the Kann?

Thanks, that's a helpful post. It's not just about minute details - I subjectively prefer the sound of the Stax - e.g. vocals sound more authentic (perhaps the extra detail is helping as I can hear the singer's voice 'cracking.') Actual speakers would probably be preferable for bass but at the...

Has anyone made any progress on finding some good listening rooms? I'm actually finding that even with a very high-end listening room, my headphones (Stax) are actually more resolving than the room they're emulating...!

DAP with dedicated line out/ streaming

I'd like to use this in my living room rather than a (large) dedicated streamer + DAC - it's just to save on space. Amp power is not a factor as I will use a separate amp. Not interested in lots of features, just sound quality + ability to use with Amazon Music HD + dedicated line out for the...

    The Stax Thread III

Thanks for the reply, although your view does seem to have moved very subtly (I'm sure I remember an earlier post where you said that provided two estat amps both had sufficient power and inaudible distortion levels, they would be indistinguishable). The whole thing is still very puzzling to a...
