Blocking external sound and for use in a band?
Yarp. I figured that it would be a touch too loud still if listening while playing in the band but I had an idea. Maybe stepping outside the realm of headphones would help a bit in this case. IEM coupled with something like construction earmuffs would probably supply a good layer of noise...- El Condor

Best headphone setup for Macs
If you have the new iMacs, I'm assuming you're talking about the anodized aluminum iMacs with Intel Duo cores. If that's the case, then we both have the same model . The computer comes with the newer Intel High Definition Audio integrated sound cards. The specs are alright, but I'm noticing...- El Condor

Integrated Intel High Definition Audio on intel iMacs
Hello guys, I was wondering if anybody had any time to play with the Intel High Definition Audio cards as can be found on the latest anodized aluminum iMacs. I'm detecting a clearly different response, in particular for the bass (or maybe I blew up my ears, but I'm running at less than a...- El Condor

The "mod your Zhalou" Thread
Nope, it's confirmed. Digital in is blown up. What the hell?! So I tried my sound card analog out (which is the same port as the digital out through optical) and I could hear music. On Optical digital in, the Zhaolu unit has it's signal light flickering in the front and I hear a few noises...- El Condor

The "mod your Zhalou" Thread
@#$%. It looks like something is wrong with my D2.5A unit. The digital in seems to be completely fried. Analog in and out works still but optical in and coax in seem to be toast. I get static like the unit is seeing a few bits of signal on the optical, but nothing consistent enough and I get...- El Condor

Audiothechnica 950LTD
Hmmmm I'm thinking of getting A900 Art. I currently use my RS-1 ad nauseam. Are the A900 clear in the high range in an RS-1 sort of way? I wouldn't want to get a pair and see that they muddle the music. I don't mind the extra bass at all .- El Condor

ATH-A900 VS ATH-W1000
Right on! Thanks a lot guys. I think I have enough information to decide. I'll probably end up going for the ATH-A900 if the diminishing return isn't sufficiently in favor (to my liking) of the ATH-W1000. Given that the LTD models are a bit harder to find, I think I'll just make it easy on...- El Condor
