Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Plus coming?
Fit is snug and soft. Although its clamp is not as strong as the HD600/650, it might survive a backflip because it weigh relatively less and thus the inertia probably won't snatch it from your head.- IdleTalk

Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Plus coming?
I'm in love with my HD490pro but I had my disappointment like yours when I first heard it. The P-pads sounded veiled and boomy for me at first listen but as soon as I get it, it provides a very thorough perspective over the whole soundscape. The M-pads sounded honky and thin but in the very...- IdleTalk

Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Plus coming?
Is the pinout topology of HD490pro compatible to that of ZMF's, when it's doubled to each cup of L & R?- IdleTalk

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Mids on my 1st gen T1 sound a bit distant and recessed, but not "muffled" since every contents in that range are presented crystal clear. I find it a nice tune for enjoying music and its sound in critical attitude. (I reject the idea that critical listening is the opposite of enjoying music.)...- IdleTalk

As a proud owner of Beyer T1, which cans am I missing?
Closed cans are mostly "for-purpose" rather than for "pure fidelity". If you want different approach to pure fidelity, try planar-magnetic then later electrostatic.- IdleTalk

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
But T1 is a way better headphone than D7200!! P.S. I misread „D7200“ as „D7100“. I swallow my words!- IdleTalk

Optical vs USB
1) USB 2.0 or better 2) galvanic isolation 3) asynchronous transmission 4) proper shielding or distance between built-in usb interface and analogue circuit Above conditions met, USB is better than S/PDIF.- IdleTalk

What would be the best headphones for 100$ or under?
I would recommend not buying headphones under 100$, unless you have a specific model model in mind for a specific purpose. Beyerdynamic DT990pro costs just $149. It might not fit everyone's taste but is technically one of the best headphones in the world. Why waste $100?- IdleTalk

WORST headphone you ever heard?
I don't like HD650 either. It sounds too warm and even murky on some occasions. But I like HD600. It's been always a golden classic for me. In my opinion, HD600,650, DT990, 880, 1990 etc. fall into a broad category of "fairly neutral" headphones, just differentiating in the interpretation of...- IdleTalk

Ultrasone Edition 10 I thought it must be their "statement" product, showing how they treat their customers as deaf snobs.- IdleTalk

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
The isolation of Beyer's "semi-open" design is, in my opinion, not entirely "0". in comparison to so called "earspeakers" like STAXs, K1000, or even HE500, semi-openness delivers some isolation, indeed very slight but can be meaningful in some occasion. measured difference is about...- IdleTalk

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
I have a similar experience like yours: Later S/Ns aren't necessarily smoother. My 1201 have a lot more even treble response than relatively later S/Ns: against 19xx and 10xxx. It was definitely something to keep and I have never made any comparisons since then. So I don't have any idea about...- IdleTalk

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
A report from a very early serial user. (Gen.1, 1201) I bought my T1 in 2012, and have been enjoying it without any "piercing treble" problem. But I know what this problem is, because I had this problem with another early serial T1 (19xx), which I bought and sold away in... maybe 2010. I...- IdleTalk

Does dt770 have sibilance? or rough sound?
I am somewhat sensitive to sibilance so I sold dt880 today... and I'm looking for a more soft, warm cans maybe... I will never choose Grados... but I like punch bass! I used hd25 about one year ago and I loved them although I felt them a little harsh. I'm looking for a...- IdleTalk
