The troll is back!!! Guys, don't listen to anything he's saying here as its just a bunch of misinformation. DSD is not "mostly dead" (lol) - the truth is literally the exact opposite of this. More and MORE DACs are supporting DSD because people WANT it! People want it because either a)...

LAST post, I promise...lol Guys, seriously, don't let this troll Jimster480, influence what you do with your hardware. Just please TRY it and determine it for yourselves! You won't be alone (in liking redbook upsampled to DSD)....lots of people do it and prefer it. Even if you don't prefer...

Any recommendations for a similar LPS for use with that LT3042 board? I want to do something similar and I don't think that Breeze LPS is available anymore. Thanks! Jim

Ha! Just ignore what you said...It'll go away. I don't really care. I thought I would lend a hand with a great low cost DAC for folks in place of the SMSL that is really awesome. -Jim

Lol, why would it make a difference on how "your DAC does its oversampling" if "...upsampling is just taking the same samples you have and duplicating them and then playing them back at a faster rate." Your own (very ignorant) words. -Jim

Max out the volume and there's your line-out. I'm using a standard 3.5mm to dual RCA cable and it works perfectly well. The balanced part is easily solved with the right cable. I'm having one built that goes from the 2.5mm balanced out / 3.5mm (for just ground) to dual XLRs for input into my...

How would one "lose alot of quality" by "double" upsampling? Its not like I'm braving new ground here. LOTS of people doing similar and getting the same (great) results. Significantly more air in the presentation than just listening to the FLAC files as-is. Honestly, I have a very good...

Its not at the same time. It FIRST upsamples the PCM (most of my files are in 44.1khz FLAC) to the higher rate PCM (352.8khz) via the SOX reampler DSP and THEN on the output side it upsamples the 352.8khz PCM to 512DSD via SACD / DSD Processor. -Jim

I ended up buying a Sabaj Da3 that uses 2 of the same DAC chips as the M8A and ALSO has balanced output. All for $97 on Amazon. Still listening to it but so far so good....very good. Upsampling everything to 352.8khz PCM and then to 512DSD within Foobar. -Jim

Software based RIAA EQ - part 2

Thank you, sir!!  I'm currently using an audio interface (TC Impact Twin) which has 40db of flat gain on its two instrument inputs.  It has 1mm ohm input impedance on those inputs so I bring it down to 47kohm input impedance (suitable for my MM cartrdige) via a 49.3kohm resistor on each...
