Chosing a new pair of earbuds
Most would suggest the Sharp MD33's for an inexpensive earbud. I just bought some Audio-Technica CM3's and am incredibly satisfied with them (for my Ipod Mini). They come in a number of colors and are very well built. (cost is $65, though)- K6-III

Good cans, but not overkill for PC use?
There is a somewhat enlightening review of the Koss A250 at www.goodcans.com I've talked to the owner about them. I'd say the A250's are worth it if you can get them for $75-$80- K6-III
