How does a $300 pair of bookshelf speakers compare to a pair of $300 pair of cans?
Well I do plan on getting a sub but it's not my main concern. My main concern is getting a pair of speakers that will do well for games, movies and classical music. Now how about a reciever? Or an amp? Which would do better?- Thatonedude2

How does a $300 pair of bookshelf speakers compare to a pair of $300 pair of cans?
My room is small. Very small. I've got room for my bed, dresser and a night stand. There's a small closet and space in between things but not big enough to put anything else in here. Matter of fact I don't even know where I'd put speakers. But I'll find a place..- Thatonedude2

How does a $300 pair of bookshelf speakers compare to a pair of $300 pair of cans?
And I EQ them already to ear tickling levels, don't get me wrong they have plenty of bass but I'd rather feel it with my body rather than ears.- Thatonedude2

How does a $300 pair of bookshelf speakers compare to a pair of $300 pair of cans?
Maybe. Why do you think I'm here asking for help? All in all, what's an estimate on how much a good 5.1 setup would cost? And for a receiver I was considering this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BHC7ZTE?cache=697e51afe16d780913bd93bcbcdd41b2&pi=SX200_QL40#ref=mp_s_a_1_1&qid=1392102617&sr=8-1- Thatonedude2

How does a $300 pair of bookshelf speakers compare to a pair of $300 pair of cans?
The reason I'm asking about speakers is I want some for gaming and music because headphones don't cut it for me in loudness and the bass department. Now I was wondering if you guys could help me out here on configuring a setup to use?- Thatonedude2

Best Soundtstage for gaming and classical music for $400
Have you had any experience with the Astro? Exactly what kind of power can I expect from it,and the E11 chained in between. Say I wanted to upgrade in the future to something a bit more demanding, could I just replace the E11 and link something else in between?- Thatonedude2

Best Soundtstage for gaming and classical music for $400
Actually no cable. Netflix from my ps3 only. Although I would like speakers for when I get my Ps4,but that's low priority for now. Now I don't think this would work so bear with me here, just a noob with a dumb and probably obvious idea. CD player (Marantz 5004,$350), headphones plugged into the...- Thatonedude2

Best Soundtstage for gaming and classical music for $400
Yes I considered tovar but many seemed to say they weren't the best for gaming. The ATH-AD700 seem to be the most popular choice for gaming actually, but not for music.- Thatonedude2

Best Soundtstage for gaming and classical music for $400
Ah I read that thread but it's quite long. I've had my eyes on the 598's for years. I enjoy the 518's but wish they were a bit better SQ and soundstage wise. Seeing the 5xx line seems to be,for the most part the same and carries the same sound sig I'll just pull the plug on these. Which amp or...- Thatonedude2
