Philips Fidelio X1 headphones amp recommendation?

Out of everything you just listed... what would be the best approach for budgeting under $100?    I don't really plan on upgrading my headphones any time soon, if that helps. At times I might swap out for the 558/598 though .. or a pair of IEMs (nothing too fancy). Prefer something simple to...

Philips Fidelio X1 headphones amp recommendation?

Hey PurpleAngel,   The motherboard is an ASUS Z97-A. I typically listen to music, do some gaming, and also watch a movie or something from time to time.   So this would be for "well-rounded" usage.

Philips Fidelio X1 headphones amp recommendation?

My headphonesare the Philips Fidelio X1/28 Premium Over-Ear Headphones (Discontinued by Manufacturer - 2013 Model)   Was looking at the Magni 2 or Objective2.   Any thoughts? I don't have a sound card but I do have a newer motherboard.   Would like to have an external amp or whatever to...

Fidelio X1, Sound Setup -- Recommendations?

Hmm, two conflicting answers.  One stating the magni is over doing it, while the other praising it. Who to trust? lol

Fidelio X1, Sound Setup -- Recommendations?

I've been using a pair of Philips Fidelio X1's for awhile now. Still using the stock cable, but I do have a v-moda cable sitting on the shelf that's just waiting to be used. It's just a tad too short to reach the back-end of my PC, though. These headphones are mostly used for listening to music...

    I need your help.

I've just recently picked up a pair of the Fidelio X1s by Philips, great all around cans and excellent for gaming. They are open design though, but do not require a powerful amp (they're low ohmage). Right now I'm just using a Xonar DX on my PC, but might pick up a Schiit Magni in the near...

For the Sennheiser HD598: Creative ZxR vs Asus Xonar STX vs FiiO E10

I've just picked up a Xonar DX and i'ts pretty awesome. I'm going to be pairing it with a Schiit Magni or O2 amp in the near future. You don't need anything too radical to drive the 598s...

    Dual Monitor Setup -- Advice?

So I'm in the market for some monitors. Right now I'm using a 21.5 display and that is just not enough for me anymore. I have two monitors at my desk at work -- and well, simply put...it's fabulous. I'd like to have a dual monitor setup at my home station as well, and I'm beginning to look...

Would a headphone extension cord make sound quality worse?

So I just bought a Fidelio X1 by Philips, and I'm going to use a V-MODA audio cable instead of the stock cable that comes with the headpohnes (it's apparently not very good). What I'm wondering is if using an extension cable to reach the back of my PC will cause any problems? The cable only is...

Recommendations for open headphones less than $200

Try the 558 first, if you don't like it try the DT990. If you don't like that, try the Fidelio X1.  :-)

    What should i choose?

558/598 w/ zalman clip on mic. If your looking for an even better headphone, look at the Fidelio X1.

    Doom 3

Still haven't got around to playing this. It's just one of the many many many games on Steam I've yet to tackle. Dang those sales, dang them to hell.

Recommendations for open headphones less than $200

You're not going to experience any discomfort in the 558s. Unless you have an oddly shaped head, or rather large ears. Then it might be a personal problem. The 5XX Sennheiser line-up is quite comfortable and can be worn for long periods of time. Just like with any new headphone, there is a...

I believe so, but it can still be found online. Although it's price point may be higher now than before it was considered as 'discontinued' by the Sony manufactuer.

Recommendations for open headphones less than $200

If you get the 250 ohm version of the Beyers, your going to want an amplifier.  Now, with that being said -- I'd probably recommend the 558 as a good, comfortable headphone with nice sound quality.  I've owned the 555s for years and they have been awesome headphones. I've only recenetly...

Reply to review by 'nihl' on item 'FiiO RC-MH1 Headphone Upgrade Cable'

What do you think about using this cable on the X1 by Philips? I've got a V-Moda cable on the way to replace it's stock cable, which apparently has a bed reputation.

I'd rock the 558 with the mod done on it.
