My Q's are China version's and the bumps are super squishy, and even though the bumps are soft, after a couple hours i get grooves on my head lmao, it doesn't hurt but i'd be lying if i said it doesn't freak me out i might just cut the bumps off..

It seem's the biggest difference in the AKG lineup is the pad's 

Give the Mod a go, it's so easy it will take 2 minutes, if the bass improves on them then they will be a steal at their price.

Agree 100%, i tried a ton of headphone's, the MODDED q701 is unbeatable for it's price.

I think the k712 do give high-end sound for their price, But i still think AKG could sell them for less, they've been making essentially the same design of headphone for how many years?   To me it seem's Sennheiser's aggressive price fixing is forcing other manufacturers to raise their prices...

I have made a comparison with a lot of headphones, i still stand by my previous statement, apologies if i offended anyone.   One of the only reasons i would get a k712 is for comfort, otherwise double the price for something so similar just doesn't seem worth it to me.

From what i heard the HD700 are the better phone, the k712 sound nearly identical to the modded Q's, the k712 seem very expensive for what they are.

Mine are 103335. that's weird man, are you sure you'rs are the China versions? but yeah, if i put light pressure on one of the bumps they go flat with the band.

Are you talking about the bumps? for me there's nothing to soften up. There is gel or something inside them, mine were soft out of the box.

Wow the bumps are that bad?   I'm glad i got the made in China version's then, the bumps are so soft now that they almost sit flush with the head band. but if you get the China versions you have to give them a couple of day's to stretch out, cause damn those suckers are tight at first.

Not for me, i can't hear any cons with the Mod, on my setup atleast. Someone mentioned that you can use other tape, so i wouldn't worry about keeping the stock tape. How did you manage to keep the stock tape intact? lol mine ripped up easily.

The Mod is staying   I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't of just made them like this, i have found them picking up my cell phones static sometimes though, didn't hear them do that before. Maybe that's the reason for the tape?

I'd disagree with you there, I've used both quite a bit the last week and i can hear things with Razer that i cant with Dolby. But.. for movies i would still use Dolby as it doesn't sound as processed.   Just my opinion 

    I'll post back soon, might even do it tomorrow if i have time.   Before i Mod them I'm gong to put the Headphones on a coke bottle with water and film the ripples and then i'll do the same after the Mod, sounds stupid but it might show a differance we can see lol
