I found the Hd650 brighter then the FT5. The HD600 is even brighter. I am not sensitive for upper treble brightness though, I even like it to have some sparkle. There are more reports of the FT3 being bright, I think the FT5 is worth trying.

I have the HD650 tested with an old vintage amplifier with a high impedance headphone output (pitty I don't know how much). And the difference is huge! Much and much fuller sound and smoother highs. My next upgrade is a amplifier with high output impedance.

After some days of listening I can conclude that the HD650 don't have less bass than the HD555 but more controlled. I really like the HD650 now, they sound outstanding with almost everything.
