They are the flatter doughnut ones. From what I read I would have liked these for my needs anyways, but my q701's are unmodded, so that would make a difference in my opinion. Modded could sound too muddy.

No problem giving you my impressions, but like you said about glaring frequencies, in my experience had has definitely been reduced, but there is only so much that pads can do, a lot of that has to do with the headphone/driver design itself.

No they aren't modded. (I didn't want to mess with anything and risk breaking something before I resell) but what chicolm has said about it being warm and more full bodied, and have more bass presence with a slight roll off of the treble really turns the q701's into a new headphone:) the nice...
