Is there a Headphone with Grado like high end clarity with AT- M50 quality bass?

I was wondering if there is a pair of over ear headphones that offers both great high end detail while producing solid bass impact as well? It seems to me either headphones give you great high end clarity with weak bass, or strong bass with weak highs.  I would think there has to be a set that...

Quote: Ewww, that sounds awful.  Doesn't sound like a very musical pair of headphones to me.

Just looking for a solid all-around headphone closed/open with high end clarity at the forefront. $200-250 budget.

Hi, I'm going to try and give you a very detailed description of the kind of audio quality I'm looking for in a pair of headphones. I'm buying these headphones unheard, so I really want to make the right choice. I've asked for recommendations before, but I didn't get much feedback. I would like...

    Grado sr80i vs Ultrasone hfi-580

I don't understand why people act like low end isn't important for heavy metal. Heavy Metal likes a good amount of bass too, or else everything loses impact. I guess I don't understand people's definition of strong bass.  Regardless of how you are listening to your music the bass shouldn't sound...

Found a used pair of Ultrasone HFi-780 for a good price, but.....

As long as they are better than my HD280's I'll be happy.

Found a used pair of Ultrasone HFi-780 for a good price, but.....

I want to make sure they will work well for the musical styles I listen to.  I like rock, metal, pop and electronica.     The kind of sonic character I'm looking for is punchy bass that isn't boomy, neutral mids and good clear highs.  I don't like laid back highs. Do you think these...

Looking to upgrade from my Sennheiser HD280 headphones.

Quote: Just for fun I plugged in my HD280's into my Onkyo 5.1 receiver and the sound is way better than on my PC. Why is this?  It's much fuller sounding using my receiver. It gave these headphones a lot more punch and thickness. I mean it still isn't super bassy, but compared to the sound...

Looking for a great pair of headphones for Rock/Metal at around $150.

I keep hearing good things about the Ultasone 780i.  It is said to have great bass without being flubby and crisp highs.

Do you think the Shure SR840's have better bass than the HD280's?

Looking to upgrade from my Sennheiser HD280 headphones.

I noticed I have to really back down on the 500hz slider on my PC's EQ. I guess that frequency is heavily boosted on the HD280's. I'm really looking for a pair of headphones that don't require much EQ dialing. I just want to be able to plug them in and have great sound quality.

Looking to upgrade from my Sennheiser HD280 headphones.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can point me to a solid set of over-ear headphones under $200 that falls in line with the kind of sound quality I'm looking for.  This is how I would describe the Sennheiser HD280's.   Weak bass, strong midrange and smooth highs.  I'm looking to find a...
