Schiit Fire and Save Matches! Bifrost Multibit is Here.

Speaking of musicians knowing... My wife plays the violin and I asked her to listen to the Bifrost MB today playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto In D by Toshiyo Eto. This is a Japan import JVC RCA CD saved in lossless format and played over USB.  The amp is O2 and headphones are HD600.  The...

    bifrost MB technical measurements

Thank you!  A couple of questions:   - What are the two humps in the jitter curve around 9 and 13kHz ? - What's going on at 1kHz @ -90dBFS ?

Schiit Fire and Save Matches! Bifrost Multibit is Here.

I just received my upgraded Bifrost MB.  I ordered my Bifrost May 2012 -- 9 months after the first units started shipping (Aug/Sep 2011).  My unit's RCA jacks are not even gold plated.  The Biforst I received today has gold plated RCA jacks and the optical input has a shutter.  This probably...

Schiit Fire and Save Matches! Bifrost Multibit is Here.

I once changed the GE211 tubes in one amp to the coveted United 211 tubes with pellet getter.  It sounded soooooo much better to me.  I asked my wife, who is a violinist, to listen.   Me: What do you think? Wife: What did you do? Me: I changed the tubes. Wife: It sounds like crap. Do we...

    Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite

Hi isquirrel, Thank you very much for the great comparison.  You mentioned earlier that the Elrogs have 250 hours on them, while the Takatsuki's have 150 hours.  Are you noticing any more changes in the Takatsuki's as you use them more? I'd be very interested to hear your opinion once both...

    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

+1 on being sick of analytical listening.   My Bifrost has opened up, and I am finally starting to enjoy the music.

    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

I finally got to do some listening after a few hours of burn in each day for the past 3 days (about 15 hours). The sounds has opened up quite a bit. It's clear, not bright and reaches high and low noticeably more than the original board. I (maybe strangely) found that I needed to re-tune the sub...

    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

I definitely also experienced burn in with the original board on the Bifrost. I remember being underwhelmed initially. @AiDee, Jason didn't give an exact time, he just said it can take a while.

LOL, I considered rubbing it with the cat for good luck :-)   I emailed Jason and was told it can take a while to open up. I'll report back... currently burning it in.

    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

Could I have blown something on the card while installing it?  I'm assuming it would just not work in that case.

    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

Hi Byronb. Yes, I did a listening session before and everything sounded as good as usual.  The bifrost is feeding into a custom 211 Tango-based amp, Zu Union speakers, and REL B3 sub. The sound is definitely opening up but since it's night I can only listen at very low volumes now :-)

    Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade

Hello, this is my first post to head-fi.  I just installed the Uber and Gen2 boards today.  Thanks to the contributors here who shared pictures and instructions, the upgrade was very smooth. (One screw holding the power inlet was loose to begin with -- someone tightened too much at production)...
