I had a HD600 for a long time. An outstanding headphone. Sometimes I used it with a DAP from Cowan (J3). Even with the low output power of the J3 the SQ was pretty good. Surly it will be much better with the N3.

Thanks for clarifying this. I have to agree. A dedicated headphone amp ( I use Meier Corda Classic ) with the T1 is a different world. The N3 can not substitute such a combo. But for what it is it does an admirable job driving a 600 ohm T1. Yes the kind of music plays a part too.

The N3 can't handle HD600 or DT880? I use the N3 with a Beyerdynamic T1 (600 ohm) in high gain with very nice result. Volume only between 60 and 75. Hope that is not a problem because the load is to high for the amp in the N3?

The ED12 is better with the 10 ohm Centrance than the 3 ohm Burson Conductor SL in my opinion. And outstanding with the near 0 ohm Corda Classic. The same with the Sig Pro.  Excellent with the Meier and quite acceptable with the Centrance but not that good with the Burson.
