    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

From my listening experience, I do agree that the sub bass is not as prominent as what I've heard in other setups. It's not rolled off, but if you specifically want a strong sub bass, the mojo may not be your thing.

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

Hmm it's funny you say that, because the Valhalla2 - an OTL amp supposedly able to drive high impedance HPs like the HD800 - seem to degrade the sound (elaborated on in my previous post). Even the V200 which I had, though excellent, did not bring me the same level of enjoyment as the mojo...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

Unfortunately, nope! I've not had a good listen to other amps and am probably not in a position to comment on other pairings sorry. Suffice to say, I am extremely contented with what I'm using now! :)

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

I've been using the Mojo with the HD800 for about a month so far, and I can say that it's a great pairing that has allowed me to engage with my music tremendously. I came from an Arcam irDac + Violectric v200 setup before this - and that was no slouch - but it cannot compare to the level of...

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

I use it with IEMs, HD800s, on the go, and as a desktop unit. Volume control works great for me as it is. :)

    Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆

I believe that SQ is contributed both by the objective quality of sound, and subjective qualities of the sound (the preference of the user, the tonal characteristics of the dac, the width/depth of the stage, etc). And in that sense, synergy is - in my opinion - a very important part in the...

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

I'm more into acoustic music and vocals but I feel the same way. It takes some time to make the transition for sure, but after that it's just amazing sound. And I hope people thinking of making the upgrade will give it the time it deserves before making a decision. :)

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

Haha make of it what you will - but those were my thoughts when coming from the HD600. I believe - as I stated above - that the sound we come from affects the way we perceive new sounds. I certainly don't find them v-shaped when listening to them now. This is besides the intent of the post...

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

I am a recent owner of the HD800, and I think the qualities that people speak of in the HD800 come with some time spent letting your brain adjust to its sound signature. I came from the HD600 and the transition wasn't easy - a laid back, smooth, mid centric signature to the forward, articulate...

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

I'm using the arcam irdac as well, and the pairing with the HD800s suits my ears very well.  There aren't many impressions about this pairing out there, just a few posts here and there. Let us know what you think when you've received them! :)

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

Just to weigh in on the brightness issue - I feel that the perception of brightness is contributed to not only by the amount of bass, but also how the mids are presented. If the mids are not as full bodied, the treble becomes more pronounced and the overall sound becomes very thin (which to me...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

I find that the iDSD alone is already very good sounding. Soundstage wise, I don't notice a significant difference to the iDSD's already amazing soundstage and positioning.   The iCan helps to balance the spectrum of sound so it becomes more neutral/slightly warm. In that sense, and I...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

I find the iDSD's amp to be a little bright. I'm running the iDSD to the iCan and that helps to balance things. Sounds really really good now. :)

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

It's comforting because it means I am feeding a digital signal to my iCan and not an analog one. I turn the volume on my iPhone all the way up anyway so I do not digitally attenuate the signal.    Thanks for the reply ClieOS!

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

Does this mean that changing the volume on my iPhone is only attenuating the digital signal and not affecting the analog signal?   If so, that is very comforting to hear!

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

That's exactly what I thought! That is also what happens on my macbook. (edit: volume cannot be controlled with mac controls)   Yep, just tried again and it's the same situation without the iCan. I've set the iPhone to max volume so far, and it sounds amazing but it makes me wonder if I'm...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

On my iPhone, I use the Flacplayer app and Spotify - both of them allow for volume control on the iDevice.    On my macbook, I usually use Audirvana+, but for the comparison I spoke of, I used the Spotify app. I don't believe I enabled any equalisation on Spotify. Edit: Sound enhancer is...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

Hi guys, I purchased the iDSD micro recently and my current set up is as follows:   iPhone 5 (IOS 8) > CCK > iDSD > iCan > H/Ps   However, I've found that I'm still able to control the volume via the iPhone. Should this be the case? Does this mean that the volume control on the iPhone is via...

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).

I found the fit on the 846 really good - however after a few hours of use, it got really uncomfortable within my ear. The DITAs may seem to have a less snug fit, but the combination of a lighter chassis and wide selection of ear tips made it supremely comfortable for me. Especially so using...

[Not-So-Poor Man Reviews] Dita Answer (Truth & Regular Editions)

I can't express just how glad I am that these got another review!   I've been using the Answer for many months now, and it is nothing short of amazing. I hope more people get to know more about it. :)

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).

After many months, I must say I'm still loving the DITAs. I occasionally take breaks from the DITAs but every time I return, I really really enjoy the sound. The tone is very realistic, and the soundstage, timbre, vocals and overall balance are simply amazing.    And that's the Answer btw...

UE Triple-Fi 10- Still worth buying?

I'm afraid I hear things rather differently! First, I would not term the DITAs midrange as behind by any means, certainly not compared to the TF10s. Second, the Answer has, to me, a fuller and more forward midrange accentuated by the more intimate soundstage. Hence, for me, the answer's mid...

DITA - The Answer (Truth Edition).

I'm glad the DITAs are getting more recognition now!   Just FYI for others out there, the Answer (non-truth) is amazing as well and for some, including myself, sounds a touch better. :) If you're considering the DITAs at all, be sure to try both out!!
