Wow! I knew it was gonna be small, but seeing it in your hands and seeing exactly how small it is was really surprising!

    Schlocky Speaker Success Stories

I figure I'm not the only one that's found the occasional diamond in the rough in terms of the crap budget speakers you can find at Goodwill and other thrift stores. I also figure that, this being an audio-focused community, success stories like these can be a lot of fun!   Today, I found and...

    HD 201 Headband Replacement

I had a similar issue with my pair of HD201's, nearly two years ago. Since they're so cheap, I find it'd be pretty cost inefficient to look for a replacement part; price + shipping wouldn't be too far off from what you'd need to just buy a new pair! That said, I do seem to remember getting...

Great review-- and it's certainly nice to see another Lemaitre fan on Head-fi! Do you have any experience with the HE400's, and if so, would you recommend one over the other? I'm certainly interested in an orthodynamic set of headphones, but I'm not sure I want to shell out a grand for some...

Sennhesier HD201 with built in powered preamp and single sided cable

This is awesome! I've been thinking about doing something similar to my pair of 439's, though also implementing wireless through a bluetooth receiver. That done, they might replace my Crossfade LP's as typical walking-around-town headphones.

all male 3.5 jack Y type (custom made) help for sol republic

Well first off, you're sending a stereo signal to each output. Since this is for a pair of headphones, you should use stereo to dual mono jacks. Aside from that, if you wanted, you could probably just buy cables/adapters from radioshack that would do the job, but if you're looking to create a...

    RWBY Headphones

3D printing is probably a lot more impractical (and expensive) for the layman, whereas casting your own shells out of plastic is probably at least a bit more feasible.

    RWBY Headphones

I don't think that 3d printing would be the way to do it. Personally, I'd buy a moderately priced pair of on-ear headphones and build plastic shells for them.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but if you knew they'd be bad, (which I'm assuming) then why did you drop 300 dollars on them?

What's your idea about this pack?

Also, while certainly not neutral/reference quality, the Philips Fidelio X1's perform really well with the Schiit combo. Something to keep in mind, should you want some bassy home listening headphones

What's your idea about this pack?

I prefer the 598 to the MA900's, but it's all down to personal preference. Personally, I'd go with exactly what you posted originally; I really like the Magni/Modi combo.

    SkeletonDAC Question

I'm rather new to the whole DIY scene, and as such, I'm making the cheap/easy SkeletonDAC from Beezar my first project.    http://beezar.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=41&products_id=138   The kit that I'll be using does not come with a headphone jack component/socket, and the only ones...

AudioPhiles Guide to a Low Cost of Living

One of my favorite quick and easy recipes is what I've been calling "almost Udon"   Safeway consistently stock Udon noodles, cerano peppers, and cilantro for really cheap.  Make some broth by boiling some water with chicken bouillon and soy sauce, and when it comes to a boil, add one...

Bowers & Wilkins P7 - over the ear headphones

I was never a huge fan of the P5, but that was mostly due to comfort. Maybe if the P7's wow me in terms of both sound and comfort I'll spring for them, but I've also been looking at open 'phones of a similar price (got my eyes on the HE-400's  )

From the drivers up DIY headphones (NO LATHE OR HIGH END EQUIPMENT REQUIRED!!!!)

I've been thinking about how I'd build a pair myself, and I ended up deciding on something a little bit more similar to a Grado design. I think I'll probably hybridize the two here, though, and when I do I'll be sure to post about it!

    VA / MD / DC meet - Saturday, August 31, 2013

I can probably make it, but I'm a huge novice in the industry. I've just got a pair of V-Moda's entry 'phones, but I can bring a bunch of power strips should they be needed! I'd love the opportunity to take a listen to some of the better 'phones and amps out there, as I'm looking to build a...
