Is it wrong that I'm completely in love with the bass boost? Yes it's boomy as hell but I've got my 1Rs for (somewhat) analytical listening so I've been thinking about keeping these stock and accepting them for the bass monsters they are.

Finally solved the creaking issue! As I thought it was just the hinge making noise. So I opened it up and with a toothpick applied very small amounts of vaseline to both the hinges. The only complaint I have is the creaking ear cup..its driving me mad.

Idk why you guys think that instrument separation is a good thing, personally I can't stand it because it takes enjoyment out of my music. As a novice producer and reordering artist I also try to make my mixes sound "mixed in" url so that there isn't any instrument separation.

Am I going mad or do the Sony MDR-1Rs have more bass than AKG K167s?   And dare I say punchier bass compared to the PRO700s? I definitely feel like the bass on these cans are a bit more controlled but refined and present compared to the PRO700.

MDR-1R should be better than the QC15 in terms of sound quality, looks and build quality. Just tried the the cable WITHOUT the volume rocker, and good god it's like night and day. Much louder and has more bass! doesn't sound thin and weak anymore ahah.
