    Sony MDR-XB950BT Bluetooth headphones

Is it wrong that I'm completely in love with the bass boost? Yes it's boomy as hell but I've got my 1Rs for (somewhat) analytical listening so I've been thinking about keeping these stock and accepting them for the bass monsters they are.

    Sony MDR-XB950BT Bluetooth headphones

Initial impressions -   Amazing build quality, leaps and bounds better than the MDR-1R in that aspect. Pretty weird considering that the 1Rs were more expensive when I got them. Bass is insane, I'm listening wired while charging so this is without bass boost. Honestly I can't even begin to...

    Sony MDR-XB950BT Bluetooth headphones

Getting them today, I can't wait.   Also, does doing the Dynamat mod on these change anything? I did it on my MDR-1Rs last year and they sound awesome now.

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Finally solved the creaking issue! As I thought it was just the hinge making noise. So I opened it up and with a toothpick applied very small amounts of vaseline to both the hinges. Put it back together and the creaking noise is gone! Also upon closer inspection those silicon rings that sony put...

Quote:   Momentums look like they're trying too hard, and personally I cannot stand V-Modas, sorry :p . They look way too flashy, gaudy and just overall trying even harder than the momentums. The earcup design reminds me of medieval armor, lol. The MDRs look understated and classy, I dig...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Quote: What on earth are you talking about?. Just because it happened to a pair of shures why the hell would it happen to these? lol   Anyway, not getting rid of these, I actually love them. Best looking headphones in the market BY FAR.  Quote:  Na uh. The creak is not coming...

The only complaint I have is the creaking ear cup..its driving me mad.

Maybe the song was badly mixed? Haven't really experienced that tbh.

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Quote:   It's a bit too mid centric sometimes :/ Things can sound veiled and muffled, especially older daft punk songs ( matters to me a lot because I'm a huge daft punk fan)   The bass though, phew, it's absolutely brilliant. I prefer the bass on these to the bass on the pro700mk2s (...

Quote:   They really shine with a nice treble boost and some recessed low-mids. Vocals jump out and hi-hats sound much crispier. Instrument seperation also improves because of the lack of the "veiled" sound signature that these have stock.

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Lol i meant recording artist. Basically means someone that records ( I do guitar- instrumentals and high quality covers). Sorry. And fantastic analogy. But that's taking it to an extreme. I don't think even with the cheapest headphones your mixes will sound like a big jumble, let alone the...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Idk why you guys think that instrument separation is a good thing, personally I can't stand it because it takes enjoyment out of my music. As a novice producer and reordering artist I also try to make my mixes sound "mixed in" url so that there isn't any instrument separation.

Ah, I understand. The left driver of my Audio technica gave away after a week or so and I didn't trust AT to buy it again.

Quote: I thought the isolation was horrible. But the flipside is that the clamp is very, very light making them comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.

    The Basshead Club

Am I going mad or do the Sony MDR-1Rs have more bass than AKG K167s?   And dare I say punchier bass compared to the PRO700s? I definitely feel like the bass on these cans are a bit more controlled but refined and present compared to the PRO700.

Looking for something as comfortable as Q15, but better sound?

MDR-1R should be better than the QC15 in terms of sound quality, looks and build quality. I've listened to my friends QC15 for a while and while I didn't notice a massive differene between those and my MDRs I could certainly tell that the MDRs sounded more smooth overall and was more "lush". The...

    Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R

Quote:   You don't like the sound?   TBH it's a pretty big step up from pro700mk2s I had earlier. Overall clarity, punchiness of bass, vocals and instrument seperation is better. Funny thing is I paid less for these than i did for the Audio Technicas :D I love Rakuten.com

Just tried the the cable WITHOUT the volume rocker, and good god it's like night and day. Much louder and has more bass! doesn't sound thin and weak anymore ahah.
