i have tons of trouble with genres too, i just recently figured out what house was xD.  genres really dosnt matter to me, i try to avoid listening to or not listening to something just because i generally dislike the genre.

well first off, you made an excellent choice (in my opinion) on the headphones, i have the k702s, which are pretty much the same thing, but with no quincy jones branding and dont look quite as amazing, and i love them.  they take quite a bit of power, and can barely get up to 1/2 my listening...

My AKG K702s, got them used on craigslist for 180, pretty significant as they are my first really good pair of headphones, head band is broken but easily fixable, and the silver thing on the right ear rattles a bit when they get really low, but its such a huge step up from what i used to have...
