You can get a lower band filter with caps though, inductors are shorts to DC if I remember correctly and attenuate AC at certain frequencies so if you want the signal to move to the next driver why would you attenuate the signal in the higher frequency? Doesn't it make sense that the signal of...- roughington

I mean the sm64's had a higher impedance ~100ohm. It shouldn't really matter with current mobile devices, as they should output enough current/voltage to drive them regardless, but I think them being very low impedance is a convention from the past to prevent them loading down a signal.- roughington
