Is solid silver better than silver plated copper stranded wire?  What sonic differences can I expect?

If the new lightning to 30pin connectors all have the wolfson DAC,  from 7G Nano to 5G Itouch to 5G Iphone, aren't they all going to sound the same?

I'm currently running a headstreamer mobile with my Note 2 into a DT 770.  I just don't quite get the umph that I want from the headstreamer.  I could get an amp for it, but I was thinking of just getting something better as a combo.   So which one sounds better?

Was doing the mod detachable cable mod and I just put a hole in the paper about the size of a match head.  Did I ruin the head phones?
