Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I agree. This little watt amp would have to be something special SQ-wise. I can just as easily use a Vidar with my 95db sensitive speakers, which are rated to 200w power handling and call it good. What I want is to be able to take advantage of a better amp design by virtue of having these...- gld3gld3

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I feel like high sensitivity speakers are getting more attention these days. I have some myself and will soon be in the market for a replacement for my 50 watt Emotiva amp. For those who have sensitive speakers, the difference between 20 and 25 watts would be negligible in my opinion. Just keep...- gld3gld3

Yup I avoid Starbucks. Always tastes overroasted to me, no matter what type of coffee I get. I roast my own beans at home. Cheap and much better results.- gld3gld3

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I totally am with you on this one. My Tekton m-Lores are practically begging for this, as are your speakers (from what I can tell). Right now I'm driving them with a 50w Emotiva amp and I really can't complain about the sound, but I'm thinking a new amp might be my next buy for my speaker...- gld3gld3

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Sweet. I've been reading a lot about these speakers. I have the Tekton m-Lores and love them. I don't really need more than what the m-Lores offer right now, but someday I'm sure I'll step up to something like the DIs (more likely the Electrons, for a smaller footprint). I cannot recommend...- gld3gld3

Woohoo! Just FYI, I think the output/input specs are incorrect as displayed. They look the same as those for Saga. Good job. This looks sweet!- gld3gld3

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I am mostly a lurker on Head-fi, but I just have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed following this Schiit thread. While I don't currently own any Schiit, that will likely change in the future as I am eyeing their speaker-focused equipment. More than anything I am grateful to Schiit for...- gld3gld3

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I bet most of the Tekton (another USA, internet direct company) offerings would sound great with the Rag. Very efficient speakers. I drive my m-Lores with a 50 watt amp from Emotiva. I am eagerly awaiting Schiits new speaker amps...- gld3gld3

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)
Aw man, now I've got the itch to try a Linux music server. I will compare this to my current Windows/Foobar music server --> 2.0 speakers (which I thought sounded good!). Luckily I have a bunch of old PC parts lying around...- gld3gld3

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
The one thing I dislike the most about my system right now is that TIDAL doesn't have a remote control app! Come on TIDAL! I built a PC music server for my stereo system and I would like to control all of my music via my Android phone. I currently use FoobarCon Pro to control Foobar (for the...- gld3gld3

Emotiva Stealth DC-1 DAC
Should the DC-1 be connected to power through a surge protector or does it have built-in protection like the Emotiva amplifiers have? I'm wondering, what would be the best way to connect my devices to power? I have a DC-1, mini-X amp, and music server (PC) that all need hooking up in the...- gld3gld3

A (faulty?) review of a recent SS headphone amplifier
Thanks for starting this thread. Your thoughts mirrored mine exactly. I had to double check the date to make sure this wasn't April 1. Why would head-fi put a review like this on the front page? Yikes!- gld3gld3

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**
I can at least tell you that I really like the pairing of the Magni with the 3.2s (you will find that there are others that agree with this). It sounded too dark out of a Fiio E07k that I had previously and I don't think the Fiio had enough power to really bring out the best in these cans...- gld3gld3

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**
I have had my Mad Dogs for about 1 month now and I really like them! First off, I should say that the setup I came from before the Mad Dogs were the ATH-M50s with a Fiio EO7k dac/amp. With the Mad Dog purchase I also picked up a Modi/Magni stack. Rather then describing the sound of the Mad...- gld3gld3

Upgrade from Schiit Magni?
Have you looked at the new amp from Schiit, the Vali? I have been following the main thread for that amp and I seem to recall a few people posting favorable impressions pairing it with the HE-400. Don't know if it tames the brightness of these phones or not, but maybe someone on that thread...- gld3gld3

The Beatles, Bowie, T Rex, Sam Cooke, and Portugal. The Man.
I just discovered this band for myself recently. I can't believe they aren't more popular! Their music hits that sweet spot for me. While I think their latest album is really good, I also think some of the tracks on their second-to-latest album "In the Mountain in the Cloud" are even better. I...- gld3gld3
