    Westone W80

What would you buy instead? I'm actually looking at mid tier options , so spending 400 euro tops this time. I don't use the IEM as much now as I work from home and I have other big earphones that sound better for a fraction of the money, but obviously I can't take them out as confortably as the...

    Westone W80

Sorry, I forgot to mention on my original post that it's not the cable, it's something inside the earpice because swapping left to right doesn't fix anything. I guess I will try to open then and fix them. Even if I destroy them I can send them to someone to put them inside a mould like a custom...

    Westone W80

Hi everyone! Does anyone know someone in Europe who can repair the W80, the right earpice stopped working, at the begginning started failing a little bit but touching the cable would make it work, but then one day stopped. I think it's the cable so it should be something "easy" to fix but I...

    Westone Bluetooth V2

I didn't like the Westone BT cable but I have been using the Shure one with my W80 and I haven't used any cable since then. 🤷🏽‍♂️

New Shure RMCE-BT2 (tested with SE535)

Thanks, I might set up my phone to auto power off BT when not in use then.

New Shure RMCE-BT2 (tested with SE535)

Quick question about the RMCE BT2, do they autopower off automatically? I have mine and they don't seem to do that which is really annoying as sometimes I forget and next time the battery is totally drained.

    Westone Bluetooth V2

Just a quick update, I've received today the Shure BT2 and no hissing at all, sound quality is incredible compared to a 10$ bt cable I bought in ebay (obviously).

I'm as shocked as you are believe me, it´s really annoying. I use the Samsung S9 but I had the S8 and an HTC before, so it´s not a problem with the source but the cable. I really want to send this cable to westone so they can try with different earpieces. And actually this issue it seems to be...

    Westone Bluetooth V2

Exactly the same problem here with the W80, I hear a terrible hissing on the right earpiece. It does not stop but with music you don´t notice anything, except if there is a quiet part on the track or you hear clasical music, jazz, etc... To me this is unnaceptable experience and I will return...

Nothing, and my replacement ALO cable is starting to fail again. I haven't heard from Westone yet. I have bought the bluetooth cable, annoying to have to use a wireless cable and spend an extra 150£ really...

    Westone W80

@BKG22 @twister6 this is indeed worrying and I definitely want to keep the W80: The W80 are the only earphones I currently have and I use them with my phone are computer. I use them every day: basically I plug them to my phone to go to work and when I get there I unplug them and connect them...

    Westone W80

Hi all, I've decided to follow up on the messages below as I think this is really unacceptable. Westone sent me like 3 ALO cables and they all stopped working (well, they fail) as described below. At least their support has been great. When I stopped using the last ALO cable I took a picture of...

    Westone W80

When I bought the W80 in Feb 17 I started to use the remote cable, started to fail after a few months and switched to the ALO cable, it worked fine for a few months and failed again, so I sent for RMA both cables with the IEMs so they replaced both. I got both cables new + the IEMs. In Jan 18...

    Westone W80

Hi everyone, I boughy my W80 in Feb 2017 and I had to return them 3 times already. They always develop a fault where one of the earpices stop sounding when I move my head, etc. It is extremely annoying and none of my other Westone earphones had this problem before. Do you know if someone else...

    Westone W80

Definitely, unless you sit in a quite place and really focus, you won´t hear any difference between a good MP3 and a master audio in super high resolution. Or at least that´s what my ears tell me.

    Westone W80

I've been using my W80 with the Meridian Explorer2 and Tidal with Master files in MQA and I must say some tracks sound really well compared to a FLAC, but some others the difference is nonexistent.

I'm sure it´s not the sweat moisture as as I started using the Alo, then changed to mifi cable and started to fail, now with the alo again and it´s all good. It could be you are right and it´s from the angled cable, but still it seems weird: with my old W60 I used them a lot with the mifi cable...

    Westone W80

Guys I have a problem with the regular cable, sometimes one of the earphones stops working or the balance between L/R earpiece changes etc. This is extremely bad when I have the helmet on and riding, but even at my desk this happens. I changed to the ALO cable and this works perfectly fine...

    Westone W80

Hello! I've bought the w80 in February and I've been using the alo cable since then. Today I have tested the epic cable with the remote as I prefer its features. Unfortunately I have noticed quite a lot of difference, the sound is less punchy and rich. My question is, the alo cable has more...

I think the w80 are better in every aspect, if you want a different sound I would just tune it but I would never go back to the w60 Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Westone W80

So after these weeks with the W80 as main iem I went back to the w60 to see how I perceived the sound between them. As expected, the w80 sound now with crisper and natural sound, when I change to the w60 I perceive the sound dark, less detailed and with a lot o bass.   The difference is...

    Westone W80

So today I received my W80 and these are my first impressions compared with my w60:   - Shell looks nicer and fit of the faceplates better - On my ear I need different eartips, while on the W60 I use the "black" startips, on the W80 I need the "red" ones, for some reason the don't go as deep...

Hey guys! I've just read all the 23 pages of the thread before posting and there have been some interesting posts, and hilarious as well. I'm not going to comment on the people saying at the beginning of this discussing that Westone are only for people not knowing other brands and with zero hifi...
