Micro DAC > Micro Amp > Swans M200, or Micro DAC > Swans M200?

I'm getting the Headroom Micro DAC and Amp for my HD580 headphones, but I also have the Swans M200 speakers. Since the Swans are self-powered by an internal amp, I was wondering if there would be any point in running them through the Micro DAC and Amp, or would it be better to just plug them...

    Hmmm...guess burn-in is real...

Got my HD580 yesterday, and the bass didn't have a smooth sound. Sort of warbly, but only slightly, if you know what I mean. Had it playing music for the past 24 hours, and that problem is already gone. Didn't believe in burn-in before, but, eh, it's interesting.

Any difference between HD580 and HD650 stock cables?

[I posted this topic in the cables forum, but I think I'll get better responses here] I recently placed an order for the HD580 from Amazon, but wanted to keep an extra cable just in case I ever screwed up the original one--especially since they're so cheap. Just wondering if I should order...

Any difference between HD580 and HD650 stock cables?

I recently placed an order for the HD580 from Amazon, but wanted to keep an extra cable just in case I ever screwed up the original one--especially since they're so cheap. Just wondering if I should order the HD580 cable or just go for the HD650. No need to recommend a Cardas/Equinox/Zu, because...

Are the foam tips the same size for all the IEMs?

Because I remember the foam tips for the UE Super.Fi 5 Pro made my ears hurt like mad. The pain would last for hours after taking them out of my ears. I'm just wondering if all the other IEMs have foam tips that are as thick as the SF5's, because I really can't tolerate those at all. Thanks.

What improvements w/ Headroom Micro added to Echo Indigo & HD595?

I'm currently using my HD-595 on my laptop with an Echo Indigo soundcard. It sounds great, and I'm wondering what kind of improvements I can expect with a real amp like the Headroom Micro. Thanks.

HD595 sounds the same from Echo Indigo and iAudio G3.

Is it because these headphones are easy to drive, and I won't need any additional amp? Sounds great as is, by the way. Then again, I have never used an amp, so I do not have the same frame of referrence as many of you. I should probably keep it that way...

What's the deal with the plastic wedges in HD595 speakers?

What possible reason could anyone have for putting these bloody things in the speakers? They bother me sometimes when they touch my ears.

This is what my equalizer looks like...please recommend a headphone:

As you can see, I like mids, and don't care much for bass or highs. Sometimes, I might shallow out the edges a bit, but rarely do I have all settings flat, and never do I have the bass and highs exceed the mids. I listen to a lot of music that's easy on the ears, and on the softer/slower side of...

    In-Ear Pictures of Super.Fi 5 Pro

When I was browsing around this forum for information on the SF5P, I noticed that some people wanted to know what they looked like in one's ear, but I think there was only one photo of what they looked like. I got mine today, and--not having any prior experience with any other IEMs--I am very...

I do not see many negative comments about the UM2s.

I notice that many people have tried the Shure, Ety, and UE SuperFi IEMs, and I see a lot of conflicting views regarding which is the "best" for whatever attribute is being discussed. But not too many people talk about the UM2 IEMs, and when they do, I normally read nothing but positive...

Is there something I need for better sound on my laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 700m that uses on-board SigmaTel Audio. When I plug my earphones into the jack, I get a bit of hiss that I really do not like at all. I really don't know much about the things people use for music on their computers other than sound cards (which I cannot upgrade on this)...

    Isolation, Isolation, and Isolation.

That is what I am looking for. I want to be sitting three seats away from the Chatty Cathy's on the bus without being able to hear a single word. I want to be able to sit in the back of the bus--right next to the deafening engine--without having to blast my music to compensate. What IEM will...
