    Crack;Bottlehead OTL

Hi guys, It has been a while since my last visit to this forum. I have had my bottlehead crack for about three years now and recently I started noticing a crackling coming out, even with the source off and regardless of the headphones it is connected to, tried it with Beyerdynamic DT880(600ohm)...

So I'm finally done putting together this setup. Took me several weeks to get my RMA DAC and a few  days to finish my bottlehead crack. There are no words to describe the sound...

Hi All, I know this is probably a noob question but here it goes: I own the 600ohm version of the DT880s and for a while been noticing that the right channel is a bit louder than the left channel. For a while I thought that it was an issue with the volume pot on my Bravo V2 amp but I just...

I do like WD products too, I use a My Book Live which you can connect to your wireless router (if you have one) and automatically backs up file changes while your computer is connected to your wifi network.

Is it common for the sliding mechanism for expanding the headband on the DT880s to be very loose? There are almost no clicks like the Custom One Pros, the cups slide up and down very freely when I take them off or put them on. I have to adjust them every time I put them on my head.

    Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Review

lol... that's almost impossible here in SoCal.   Anyway, it's ohm's law, low impedance requires a larger amount of current, that's why you need to crank up the volume all the way. There is a lot of information here related to driving low impedance cans.

    Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Review

Quote: The COPs have 16ohm drivers, which many considered low a impedance headphone to be harder to drive as it requires more current from the source. It your source was providing enough juice, you shouldn't need a volume level past 50%.   I used to drive my COPs with a FiiO E10 or a...

    Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Review

Quote: I haven't tried the DT660 or Grado SR80i but but have listened to the DT770/880(own)/990 and also owned the COPs. If all you care is bass I think the AudioTechnicas ATH M50s are more fun to listen to. But is you are looking for a really nice neutral headphone, go for the DT880s...

This could be a very risky mod, do you know of anyone that does this type of mod?

I'm newb here and have been slowly upgrading my headphones. Started with Sennheisers HD439, then the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro, to the Superlux HD681EVO, and now I'm the happy owner of DT880 600ohm cans. I love them!

Powering down the Amp, dangerous for headphone ? (Bravo Audio V2 Tube Amp)

This is something I read on a thread for the Bravo Audio V2 amp on rockgrotto:   But DON'T leave your headphones plugged in when you turn on or off this amp. The output coupling capacitor will charge/discharge through your headphones and there will be several volts of DC across them during...

New here lookin for some advice

I replied to another thread you started with a link to this site which goes over some other mods you can do to your V2 amp. I've made most of them and I don't think I spent more than $30 to do the mods, assuming you already have a soldering station. My V2 can drive my DT880 600ohm cans and the...

Hi sixly, I also got the V2 tube amp and after doing a lot of reading here and other audiophile sites I decided to get the most out of my V2 amp and mod it. While it is true that a different tube will give a different/better sound, there are other mods that you can do that will give you more...

Bravo Audio V2 Review - Big Sound in a Small Package

I got the Bravo Audio V2 with some modifications suggested by solderdude on the rockgrotto site. It's now driving my new DT880 600ohm cans and it drives them with so little effort.   I also read about the garage1217 tube amps based on a similar design as the bravo audio but for that price I...

I also had planned to recable my new DT880s but after reading about the hair thin coil wires I decided not to do it. Later I might pay an expert to do it for me, but for now I'm enjoying my stock DT880 600ohm cans. Only one word can describe them "WOW"
