The JVC HA-S680 - S400's and S500's big brother is here!
I got these on Christmas Eve, waaaay earlier than I expected! They sound great, even non-broken in. I really like my S500's, and I think these sound much better. I must have semi-small ears, for me these are over-ears. They don't "feel" as rugged as the UE6000, mainly because they weigh like...- clarkkent

Chat with Amazon, I'm sure they'll replace them for you. I haven't heard of this issue before, it's probably a very low probability thing- clarkkent

Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
Just got my T1 in the mail today, wow this thing sounds AMAZING. I haven't tried it on anything but my M100's yet, but they really do sound amazing. I haven't really had many amp's/dac's to compare it to, beside the ELE-1 and C&C BH, but I like what I'm hearing. This one has a 6922EH in it...- clarkkent

Notice how I said "in general". Also, I was referring to straight horsepower if you read closely. So actually you helped prove my point re: horsepower in the larger engines being greater- clarkkent

I'm sure to a point, this is true. Design has something to do with it, but nothing beats mm's. It's like the old saying with cars, "nothing beats cubic inches". Very true. A 350 v8 "in general" will always have more potential horsepower than a 2.0l honda engine. Sure, you can use forced...- clarkkent

Yeah I agree! But against the UE6000 (which I'm pretty sure have an amp/bass boost inside) and XB500, it's a tough battle- clarkkent

Hmm so I've been testing the Ultimate Ears UE6000s today. With the active NC turned on, these have quite a bit of bass. I'm comparing them to a pair of V-Moda M100's (with XL pads), Sony XB500's, and JVC S500's. The track I'm using is the album version of "Dear Boy" by Avicii (on True)...- clarkkent

This is what I posted in that other thread but I'll post them here as well: I added these to my M-100's last night. I was shocked at how much they increased the soundstage. And I agree with the more realistic sound OP mentioned. They are significantly more comfortable, although I was only able...- clarkkent
