Corsonus Kodachi - new electrostatic amplifier
I have sold several units already but until I was sure about the supply chain issues due to covid, I didn't want to do a full public release. As mentioned before, some parts were out of stock for months and some up to a year or more lead times, even now. Yes it is fully balanced from input to...- mypasswordis

Corsonus Kodachi - new electrostatic amplifier
Yes, the review unit is kind of a mashup of parts due to the long and tedious processes involved in hand finishing the amp, and the possibility that the unit would be damaged or lost in shipping. I'd show you vids of the finishing and anodizing process but it would be more fun to watch paint...- mypasswordis

CanJam NYC 2020 Impressions Thread (February 15-16, 2020)
Hey guys, Corsonus from the meet checking in here. Just wanted to post up a pic of the amp stacked, as I forgot to have one setup stacked to show the footprint and also a few people thought the power supply was a DAC. It was nice talking to you guys, and a bit weird being on the other end of the...- mypasswordis

The Official Sony MDR-Z1R Flagship Headphone Thread (Live From IFA 2016)
To all the people claiming the frequency response is deeply flawed: Almost all of these graphs seem to have a "spike" at 8-10kHz: https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/headphone-measurements-explained-frequency-response-part-two Anyone see any similarities between those graphs, this one, and...- mypasswordis

Orthodynamic Roundup
Too many collectors out there who are willing to pay huge amounts for the rare ones, thus driving prices up :( the new orthos should have driven prices back down but instead they're all thousands of dollars, not much better, and a lot less reliable- mypasswordis

Hey @DefectiveAudioComponent and @ericj! Glad you're still holding the fort down. The Magnat looks gorgeous, hope you find a good solution. Sadly, plastic doesn't age as well as metal, as I have also experienced. Not orthos but just bought these Teledynes by accident: Is...- mypasswordis

New Jecklin Float QA !!!
All that I see on the website about any improvement from the old model is that the new stepup transformers are bigger and heavier, and will improve the bass of old Floats as well. Given "thinker" 's impressions on the sound of the QA with his golden ears, it doesn't seem like the bass or...- mypasswordis

Did you buy the ones on ebay? I've been curious about the Aiwas since Kabeer brought them to our attention. So there's not a lot of bass?- mypasswordis

Official/ New York Spring Meet Sat April 5 2014
Woah, dunno how I missed this, thanks for the offer! That should work fine if you can pick me up at your nearest subway station. I guess I wouldn't expect the vast majority of people in Manhattan to have cars, myself included. In regards to actually bringing stuff to the meet, I think...- mypasswordis

PMBs and their OEM versions seem to be much rarer on this side of the pond, I'll keep a lookout but not expecting to find a pair with 55mm drivers anytime soon. I am about to buy some other rare vintage headphones anyway, so the headphone fund is empty now. The RT10 looks very beautiful, you...- mypasswordis

The T10, T20v1, and T20v2 are completely stock. I have discovered awhile back, from owning 4 different pairs of T20v2s over the years, that the T20v2 with bold text (which is what I have now) has less bass/more balanced sound than T20v2 with skinny text on the cups. T10 and T20v2 (bass light...- mypasswordis

Schematic Needed Superex PEP-77C and PEP-79 "step-up and bias box" for PEP-71 Electrostatic HP
Hi Keilau, once you figure it out I'd also love a copy of the manual. The PEP-74 is a good sounding headphone, but so is the ESP6 with O2 pads after I removed the internal PCBs and recabled for Stax.- mypasswordis

By 'here' do you mean this thread or HF in general? From what I've seen, people in this thread tend to like measurements and graphs, myself included. I dunno, I guess I couldn't get over the mid-bass hump on the MP and the overall staleness of the LP. Both had the resolving power of a rock. I've never heard a K250 but Wualta has good things to say about it other than the rolled off bass and I trust his hearing, so maybe it sounds a lot better...- mypasswordis

Quote: K340 is much easier to open than K240 series imo. At the very least when getting an untouched K340 one should either swap out the old cotton with new cotton or replace with actual felt/damping materials. Great job Don, I'm sure the RP18 sounds as wonderful as it looks. Looking good, stratocaster. Funny, I usually find the opposite is true in regards to muddiness in open vs. closed backs. The ebay pads arrived yesterday so I tried putting them on the AT-702 but the circumference is much smaller and there is no way they would stretch that far. My solution...- mypasswordis
