Just install the N.E.A.K kernel ( there are others, but I really like NEAK ), then install the free NEAK engine from the playstore and you're good to go- Finguz

Quote: I'm finding it very difficult indeed to take off the DT 770 Pro AE 88's. I also have a pair of AKG K550's that I listen to on the rare occasions when I actually take the 88's off. The AKG's were originally bought as a gift for someone else, who didn't like them, and I couldn't be...- Finguz

Over hyped to the Nth degree, over priced ( in the UK at least ), and the sound is overcooked. The kids and vampire fans will no doubt go crazy for them. After a few days of trying hard to like their odd/wonky sound, I respected the repeated cries for mercy from my ears, and moved on!- Finguz

Are you a Basshead? Or a Treblehead? Or a Midrange head? A Flathead? Or....?
I love music? If it sounds crap I stop listening and listen to something else! When I bought my headphones I went to a local hi-fi shop and listened until I found the sound I liked with my music. This is clearly why I fail to see the logic behind buying high quality, and usually expensive...- Finguz

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro - Limited Edition, 32 Ohms
Quote: Yes I was thinking along the same lines, in which case I will probably pass as the sound is very close to ideal for me right now, and the isolation is a nice bonus. Of course it is still early days as they continue to burn in. I will see how the sound develops, and I really...- Finguz

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro - Limited Edition, 32 Ohms
Been listening to my new DT 770 LE's for about 24 hours in total now, and I'm really loving their sound. To my ears they absolutely love this track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8eNXv97YFY&list=FLA8qURgNEpssbfT4OGiN97Q&index=31 It's not really my kind of music tbh, but it sounds eye-meltingly...- Finguz

Testing audiophile claims and myths

Testing audiophile claims and myths
For what it's worth a friend in london was always on about how awesome his hi-fi sounded, and how he could hear huge differences, especially after connecting his new £400 each interconnects between his cd player, dac and amp. We were at his home one evening watching a movie and he popped out to...- Finguz

AKG K550 or Beyerdynamic DT 990,770?
Will do thanks. Assuming his head is big enough, and he gets a good seal ( he doesn't wear glasses ) does the bass on the 550's have some impact or would you say they were bass shy, even if just a little?- Finguz

AKG K550 or Beyerdynamic DT 990,770?
Thanks for the prompt reply. I was lead to believe that the 990/770's were very bass oriented, from your comments it sounds like that is not the case? Also I am pretty sure he doesn't want overly bloated bass, just as long as it reaches deep enough and he can hear it. Would the K550's manage...- Finguz
