    W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!

I was thinking of doing the red/blue mod like yours but after reading this I might just leave them be... Maybe try a little blu-tack to pad them out?..

    W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!

You're welcome.  I don't use CanOpener all the time as I'm often mucking around with new playlists in the default player but whilst I'm slowly warming to the warmer sound of Westone I still prefer the sound from this app...   I'm glad I didn't go for the SE535 now as I'm hooked on these...

CanOpener - an impressive Crossfeed, and EQ app for iPhone and iPad. Pretty much a must have.

I'd say it's down to how your source / cables / cans / tips / ears all react together, surely?  My Westone W30 are too warm for me without EQ, and I wouldn't call them budget...

CanOpener - an impressive Crossfeed, and EQ app for iPhone and iPad. Pretty much a must have.

I'm also loving this app.  Not found better yet.  Reduce the bass / increase the treble / add some crossfeed and my new Westone W30 and iPhone 5 now sound great together.  Even my Bose MIE2i which I use in traffic sound great through this.  Best of all, you can save all the settings to profiles...

    W30 vs W40 - Help Please

Hi. Just spotted your thread. I also picked up the W30 a few days ago. I'm finding a good fit and the right tips for your ears to be crucial. Also iPhone 5 with the app CanOpener with a dash more treble / less bass plus some crossfade has brought these into line for me. The musicality and detail...

    W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!

... I can't tell you how much fun I'm having here.  To add to what I said above about the right fit and to try lots of different tips, I'm also having some amazing results with the iPhone app CanOpener. Great EQ and crossfade functions and best of all, it lets you save profiles for each of your...

Yeah, I'm seeing the 4R right there on page 2 - http://www.head-fi.org/a/head-fi-buying-guide-in-ear-headphones-2   More importantly, about my new W30 :)   Wow things have moved on a bit since the E4c :D  Ergonomics = great. Immediate reaction to the first track I played, Deb Talan's...

    W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!

And how did I miss the winter buying guide up until now? and I was surprised to see the 4R listed as I thought it was discontinued.  Seeing the W30 listed would have been reassuring but alas.  Reading about 4R and Cardas makes me consider sending the W30 back unopened tomorrow :D

Shure E4C - Reviews, Opinions & Ramblings Thread

My new IEMs arrive tomorrow - I thought I'd pop back here for old times sake.   My Shures are still going strong and still come out when I need the isolation. It's been fun but it's time to move on. Something tells me my new buds may not last as long but who knows. See you in another 10 years :D

    W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!

OK well that's me sold.  Ever since getting into Grado on-ears a couple of years ago my old Shure E4C IEM were destined for the bin.   I was going Sennheiser IE80 but can they groove?  Then Grado GR10 but the build?  I was going to stick with Shure but the SE535 are old and the SE846 too much...

Quote:   Firstly, thanks for this TheFed. If you're saying the HE400 are as foot-tapping as the SR125 but with more comfort and better SQ overall then you're right, these could be the ones. There's an open evening at my favourite local store on the 30th and they're getting some Hifiman in...

... Popped into my favourite store in town today. I knew they don't stock headphones but wanted their chat anyway. For somewhere that doesn't have headphones on display they seemed to know a lot about headphones! Anyway, they recommended I get a listen to the Hifiman range before buying. I also...

Thanks for that. I think I'm wanting to explore the Grado options based on what I heard and how they felt from the off. I'm reading that the SR325 plus G cush pads make them more comfy and provide a bigger soundstage and airy feel, something I'd like to try. I read a review that said this sounds...

My the GS-1000 also read like they're right up my street. Imaging like the K701 but more engaging, more comfy, maybe even easier to drive. But the price     Any more suggestions? How might the AD900 compare sound-wise to the SR125 I heard today?   All suggestions welcome

See, the HD650, that's what I thought I'd like. I wanted SQ and soundstage and all the reviews say HD650, but listening to Grados (which I was sure I wouldn't like from what I'd read) the SR125i (the only model they had) was more engaging and airy somehow. Not what I expected at all. I'm told...

OK well I was wrong. I took my Sony x walkman on a detour from work and got a listen to some phones today. None of the ones on my list (not surprising as most are discontinued I know) but I did get to try:     Senn HD598 - smooth but a bit underwhelming somehow. Not that comfy either -...

Hi Folks,   First ever post for me. Woohoo    I'm looking for some recommendations please. I don't have anywhere good local I can try on so it's a bit of a gamble. I've been using Sennheiser HD25 for decades with a Sony CD walkman and wanted something more open to use at home. I now have...
