My head is ****ing enormous and it was tight for a while before I realized you need to really pull on it firmly to get the last peg out - now it even fits my giant ass head. The inflexible headband is not the best, if I decide I want to keep these I may do something about that. The pads are also...

    Damaged Structure on Soundmagic HP100

So my Soundmagic HP100 have fractured at the joint here. It's not a clean break yet, but it seems rather threatening. Any ideas on how I can repair this? I'm alright with either DIY options as well as paying for the services of others.

    [REVIEW] SoundMAGIC HP100

Is the ZO2 warm, or is it just a bass boost? I saw that you were recommending it, but I had been under the impression its only sonic change was the bass boost, renowned for not affecting other frequencies. Are there any other warm amps at that price range you would recommend?

    [REVIEW] SoundMAGIC HP100

Hi ClieOS,   I was wondering if you could give your impression of how these headphones sounded with the A10 amplifier that you mentioned. Given its very warm nature, I was wondering if it would add more vitality to the HP100s.

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread

Quote:   Mids feel kind of thin compared to the K550 I was using before. Vocals aren't as prominent in the music; they lose their place as the center of the show. Maybe a warmer amp like a fiio or a cmony would pair better, since the warm sound would fill in the thinness while also...

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread

Also, I got these headphones recently and I had a few opinions of these:   Unamped: Mids feel kind of empty, also overshadowed by treble Bass is OK; not bad, but not stellar   Amped with C&C BH: Helps bring forth mids, reduce treble Bass gains impact, can feel the extension...

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread

What genres would you say these headphones do not perform very well with? I'm not looking for a 'oh it handles everything well,' but rather a more critical assessment rather than most of the gushing praise found in appreciation threads.

C&C BH Portable Headphone Amp (80 Hours from a Single Charge!) [Buyer Review]

I'm noticing no EMI at all when I use it attached to my cellular device, when streaming videos using wifi and LTE. Perhaps calls will trigger it? Kind of doubtful though.

    Mad Dogs vs Soundmagic HP100

After lots of careful consideration, I thought I had settled on the mad dogs for their sweet vocals, overall balance, and durable build. However, right before I was placing my order, I discovered the Soundmagic HP100s, which retailed for $100 less. After doing some more research, I found lots of...

Personally I wouldn't go for it, seeing as the d2ks used to retail for under 300. The d2k also has rather poor build quality compared to many others in this price range.

As the average joe listener, I need some help with my next set of headphones.

Not very portable with huge cups and a 10 ft cable. Would not recommend. Momentums are a good bet for small portable, but only if you have smaller ears (<65mm).

Quote:   Actually*, a 3 dB boost would almost be a doubling of the power (99.5%); a 10 dB boost increases the power 10x. So you're very right in the regard that these changes are detectable by any attentive ear. Even a 1 dB boost increases the power by 25.9%, definitely an audible...

OK, broken into the basics: closed, durable, comfortable full sized geadphones. Very engaging vocal reproduction, impactful bass. 300 USD or under. K550 lacks bass impact, and has problems with a lack of clamp. Momentums were too small (cups) and sounded too congested. 50% alt rock like...
