Hehe I'd wait for the reviews. If its not much of an upgrade on the KXXS I'd honestly just get the Starfields if you want a solid offering of Moondrop's house sound. I have a decent amount of iems, and I find myself using the Starfields often, even more than the B2 even though the B2 does...

Yeah, the Starfield and KXXS are identical according to numerous reviews. Its also why the Starfields are rated so highly, because they are fantastic for the money.

I own the Starfield, Believe and the B2 (standard version). The B2 is the best of these by far, and is a direct upgrade to the Starfield. The Believe requires tinkering imo, but can be amazing.

The KXXS is just a Starfield that's almost double the price. Hope Kato is good and in a few months, they use this design to make a second gen Starfield.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Will give that a go and see how it goes ;)

Anyone having issues getting an android phone to get proper volume out of bluetooth headphones? For awhile things were fine and the volume was more than sufficient. Lately though, with the volume maxxed on the phone AND the apps its very hard to hear.

Will have to submit something to this for sure!

I share a similar preference to Crinacle's targeted frequency graph, but I'm MUCH more forgiving about headphones that deviate from it and still find quite a bit of enjoyment from them. He is just one reviewer after all and should be weighted as such. When you can find a headphone that is liked...

I find this is difficult in execution as it leads to rounded upper bass lower midrange that sounds unnatural to me most of the time.

Great review. I have a similar take, though I lean towards liking them do to how they place the overall soundwall--it feels pretty wide which I enjoy for the price. But yeah, the midbass hump is a thing--it cools off a hair with burn in but not enough. At this point, I wish all headphones would...

Intriguing. EDIT: Bah, not new I don't think. Just a cool new paintjob

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread

I've started to like the more conch shaped lately because they are ported well so you don't get pressure build up in the ear like you do ESPECIALLY with Flares. Regardless, the E5000 never had that problem for me, they are fantastic headphones that just require some herculean power to sing...

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread

Anyone else here basically only like these bullet shaped IEMs? I have never been able to get along with any of those Campfire-esque shaped IEMs. None of them fit my ears, or if they do, they require quite a bit of fiddling--just in time for someone to need my attention and I have to pull them...

Reply to review by 'bhima' on item 'ZEN by DUNU'

That's not the answer I was looking for ;) Was looking for someone with both headphones that also uses Equalizer APO and have them try the Believe with this ZEN profile to see if it sounds similar, or at least in the same ballpark.

As the price suggests they should, I'm more interested to see if this EQ profile moves the needle towards sounding like the Zen.

Excellent review as always, Red. Do you have a pair of Believes? I have created an EQ profile that was modelled after the ZEN. I just don't own a ZEN to see how close, if at all, it is to it. Thanks!

Blon in ear monitors impressions thread

Its all part of the game. In order of Sound Quality gains: 1) headphones 2) source 3) tips 4) dampers 5) cables Cables make the least difference (if any at all depending on the IEM and the cable), so don't ever go too crazy buying cables. There are some great aftermarket cables available...

    Koss Portapro Thread

PortaPros are the easiest headphones to wear, and the non-noise isolation is great not only for your surroundings, but also for working out. I have no idea how people run with IEMs or closed back headphones. All you hear is the THUMP, THUMP, THUMP of your feet hitting the ground and your...

I have never found foam tips to make any IEMs sound better UNLESS the IEM was tuned with foams in mind (Flares Pro 2 HD is a good example). Check TheVortex's suggestion and see if you have an out of phase issue. If not, I'd consider getting some Final E type tips.

    EQ Settings for 700+ Headphones

If anyone owns a KB EAR Believe this profile is designed to fit the Believe to the Sony 1ZR curve. Its the first time I've eq'd a headphone to a different headphone and actually like it better than the stock tuning: Preamp: -7.6 dB Filter 1: ON PK Fc 25 Hz Gain 4.6 dB Q 0.18 Filter 2: ON PK Fc...

Blon in ear monitors impressions thread

What tips are you using? I find the stock BLON tips should be immediately tossed in the trash. They are terrible, and they do not make ANY headphone sound good. I use the Final E type tips. I'll have to try that specific Chapman song though and try and hear what you are hearing.

Thanks man! Yeah, I actually prefer this tuning now to the stock Believe. This is the first time I've really had a go at making curves fit other headphones and it actually being preferred to the stock tuning. Its a testament to just how much the Believe scales. Nothing else in my limited...

    Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

I do not have an A7, though I almost bought one and have read/watched pretty much every review available. Seems like a resounding winner, and the different tuning options are actually mostly viable without creating harsh or clipped sound. Can really go pretty heavy V-shape with the tuning if you...

So does that mean you can listen on your PC? I only ask because I want someone who happens to own both the Believe and the Zen to try out my EQ profile for the Believe that is designed to make it sound closer to the Zen. I made a Believe profile that is meant to sound like a 1ZR as well, and...

    The discovery thread!

Im interested in your comparison. If you use a computer to listen to your music and have Equalizer APO, I have created an EQ profile what I think is a relatively close approximation of the Zen's frequency graph for the Believe (to try and make the Believe sound like the Zen). If you want it, I...
