The diary entries of a little girl nearing 30!

Quote:   I have had this username on many forums and never had a problem with it.   I'm thinking that Civil War reenactors and renaissance fairs are also just fantasy role playing.  Maybe the difference is as you say - the ability to seperate the reality from the fantasy.  When you...

The diary entries of a little girl nearing 30!

Quote:   Wow - OK.  I guess I understand.  That would seems a bit too close to beastiality to me.  I guess what my neighbors want to do is their own affair as long as they keep their blinds closed.   Fursuiters?  Does that mean wearing a full costume with the head and all?  If you are...

The diary entries of a little girl nearing 30!

BSG Cmoy vs Tube Cmoy - Help me decide!

Call me skeptical - why is there a red or blue LED on the tube?  It has a JRC4556 opamp, so what does the tube really do in that design?  How do we know it's not just a tube stuck in the socket with an LED to light it up?  What's the LM317 for?  None of these parts are in the cmoy design...

The diary entries of a little girl nearing 30!

I'm new here and I'm actually pretty scared about posting in this thread, but I guess I don't have much to lose.  I have a lot of questions about the "furry" world.  First - my only exposure has been from brief mentions on TV shows.  Those shows always had a kinky sex aspect to the furry world. ...

Best foam eartips for Etymotic hf3 earphones?

Most comfortable in my ears:  Comply "slim" (sometimes hard to find): http://www.westone.com/store/index.php/westone-music-products/comply-tips-2.html   Best all-around (fit, longevity, price, etc):  Shure Olives http://www.earphonesolutions.com/shpameblfosl.html   It's also not that...

Something has got to be wrong with my system, please help me solve it!

I suspect Occam's Razor would guide me to suspect the hand made DIY components over the commercial products from a normally high-quality brand.   Have you measured the impedance at the output of the DAC?

The Sub-$200 Portable Amps Shootout – 13 (+11) amps compared

I think one of the challenges for new amp buyers is the difference between high current, high voltage & high gain.  I know it confuses me!  All I know is that low-impedance headphones tend to hiss and sound bad if the amp's gain is too high - but I really don't know why - I'm guessing it is...

The Sub-$200 Portable Amps Shootout – 13 (+11) amps compared

Quote:   A DAC is used to connect the amp to a PC's USB port so that you bypass the PC's crummy soundcard.  If you aren't going to use your PC, then you don't need it.   I don't know those amps so I'll let someone else comment.

Are good headphones the chicken and portable headphone amps the egg?

I think it entirely depends on what you have now.  If you have 'phones you like, but that are a bit more difficult to drive and need a gain boost, then buying an amp first makes sense.   OTOH, I don't think buying bass-boost amps to "fix" a bad sound signature is a good idea.

    Pm limit for newbee

Perhaps, but on the other hand, buying/selling with someone with no posting history is very risky.  This isn't like ebay where there are ways to escalate issues.  I also recently came here, but I understand that this is not really a buy/sell board - it is a discussion forum that also happens to...
