For the guys who own the CK2III, what's the gain setting on yours and what cans have you tried the CK2III with? I want to compile a list of cans that the CK2III drive well so that I may try them with the amp in the future. For me so far, it works well with the K701s, PX100s, and UM1s.

I was wondering about the same thing. Perhaps a fix is coming soon.

Having owned all three, I liked the UM1s the most. I liked the E4 with classical and jazz, but for other genres I prefer the UM1s. Either of these is a big step up from the cx300. I would recommend getting the UM1s for their overall compatibility with a variety of genres and their superb comfort.

The USB Dialogue II from MHDT labs is something to look into under the $300 range.

I had both. You get more battery life on the X5L at the expense of size. I find the X5L too bulky for portable use, so get an X5 if you think 20hr battery life is enough.
