Thanks for the recommendation. I think what I'm going to do is just start off with the hifimediy U2 since it's using a Sabre Dac like the Dragonfly. See how I like the sound and add a headphone amp if need be. 

I'm looking to improve the bottom end as well as take some edge off the treble. Hopefully it'll improve the artificial sound I feel I'm getting currently with some songs as well. 

Does anyone know what amp pairs nicely with these headphones? I'm currently driving them off of a onboard soundcard and was looking for something a bit more. I'll probably be using the hifimediy U2 dac.    I was thinking maybe the Schiit Asgard 2. Budget $250
