thanks for the reply! I actually came from the LCD 2, after listening to the LCD X in store, i almost cried at the sound. Though not a fan of my Deckard with the LCD X. I will look into the Schiit Mjolnir2! 

Any recommendations for a tube amp (do they have ones with dacs as well? if so highly needed). Big plus if its a balanced tube amp.   I'm looking for the $500-600 range. Currently pairing the LCD X with the deckard, and really not enjoying it's sound. I also really just prefer a darker sound...

Just ordered a Audeze Deckard from Ebay. $495. Looks practically new. Hope this is what my LCD 2 needed!

From what i listened to, you won't need a whole lot of power for the LCD X. I might visit another High end audio store later this month in SF. Believe me i almost cried!    Also awesome!! I just bought Tesseract's Polaris Deluxe Edition to prepare myself for the LCD 2. Any other cool bands...

That makes me feel a lot better, considered selling the LCD 2 and saving for the LCD X, but i will trust your word!

at the store only the Chord Dave. i listened to Sigor Ros, Deftones (White Pony album), and Tesseract (One album). The experience was mind blowing. 

cool! would love to know your thoughts, very close to pulling the gun on the Decard. At the moment my LCD 2f sound like a slightly muffled mess. When songs get too instrumental, it just sounds congested, some of the guitar sounds just dont sound clean or aren't being picked up well. Really...

Tried the LCD x today at a high end speaker store. Man i wanted to cry, never heard such beauty. even for older progressive metal albums. Unfortunately didn't get to try the lcd 2 with a higher end amp, but did try them with the Chord Dave. Still a no go. Thinking of picking up Audeze Decard to...

I had a similar experience. Never had these demod to me in the past unfortunately so I don't know what they should sound like, but I know I'm not getting the full experience. Bass especially seems lacking unless I change EQ, but nothing like what everyone else is describing. I'm almost 99% sure...

Any more thoughts on the bass? Since you have proper amping id love to know what I'm missing. I'm using a Sg 200 shange to power these. Bass is not what I was expecting. I watched a sound demo on YouTube where his planar parts of the cans are shaking, mine don't do that during bass heavy...

Yup i see it now, it says Rosewood. The Audeze website lists these are worth more. I'm guessing rosewood cost more to get a hold of? On another note, any recommendations for an amp/dac combo that is perfect for metal? My amp can't really drive these unfortunately (Which i knew ahead of time).  

Where on the box? The invoice?

Actually, i'm not sure now if they are the rosewood. I'm colorblind so that doesn't help. They look more like the shedua... can anyone help verify?

UPS is trolling me right now. They're in the same city (super small city) "Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed. / Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day."

UPS shows they're in South San Francisco, which is like 40 mins away from me. Stupid weekend non deliveries!!!!!

I just got an email update. Looks like they've shipped it and expect to arrive on the 5th..also Theyre sending it via UPS. Though the order was for 2 day FedEx.

Ah.. okay that makes more sense. I guess the few hours i waited made a big difference. I keep hoping i'll receive them today or tomorrow.
