Reply to review by 'eventvista' on item 'FiiO E7 USB DAC and Portable Headphone Amplifier'

Ok, so 1/2 star may have been too harsh, so just to keep things fair, and because it sounded great when it worked I raised it to two stars :-)

GREQ I may seem harsh, but in all honesty customer service and product support is very important to a lot of people. I realize products break, malfunction, etc, but when they do under a reasonable warranty timeframe, the company should buck up and stand behind their product. I think I am being...

Review by 'EventVista' on item 'FiiO E7 USB DAC and Portable Headphone Amplifier'

I purchased a E7 with the intention of using it as a headphone amp/dac with my iPod and to use as a dac with my laptop running Audioengine A5+ powered speakers using the optional FIIO L7 line out doc to connect my laptop to the E7. The whole system worked great for about 3 months, but then for...

Audioengine A5+ distorts under certain circumstances

I bought a pair of A5+'s back in November and I love them, however, you are not alone with this issue. I also find that under certain circumstances (usually heavy complex bass runs at very high volume) the A5+ will show signs of strain and distort. I wondered if it was overheating, but was not...

Driving Shure SRH440 wih mobile phone

I can comment on my impressions of the FLAC and 320kbs MP3, but do not have experience with the AAC files.   About 75% of my listening is done from a desktop with a 1 TB drive.  With this said I have recently acquired a mix of FLAC and 320kbs MP3s and have plenty of free disk space to...

Monoprice Hi-Fi DJ Style Headphone Review

Quote:   I have tried quite a few different aftermarket cables and they have all worked fine with the 8323 connection.  If for some reason the connector was ridiculously wide, you may have a problem with the reset hole around the jack, but I have not come across this yet.

Driving Shure SRH440 wih mobile phone

Quote:   I totally agree with MalVeauX on this, I just went through the same realization with my iTunes.     Having recently taken my digital music more seriously, I realized what a huge mistake I had made over the past several years of importing countless CD's at 128kb.     I am...

Shure SRH440 vs Sennheiser HD 449

Quote: Interesting, maybe a sign that they are very accurate, detailed headphones.     As for the Bass, I am not a huge bass fiend, but would require that the headphone accurately reproduce the bass as intended, not enhanced bass, just natural.   I would be interested in hearing other...

Shure SRH440 vs Sennheiser HD 449

Quote: Look forward to hearing your impressions.     I have been looking at the Shure lineup for a while now and the 440 and 840 were on my short-list for my next purchase.  I realize there is a pretty significant price difference between the two and my hope was that the SRH440 was a...

Quote:   Glad you mentioned this as I meant to talk about this.   If I understand your question, no there is no inner plastic cylinder, they are 100% foam.

Quote:  I also have the KSC75 and tend to agree with you.   I love the sound, but KSC75 is also great for outdoor activities like mowing the lawn, sports, etc.  They stay on the ear very well and unlike the 8320, do not easily pop-out of your ear (with stock tips)

Quote: Glad I was able to help,  It felt kind of weird writing a "review" on something that cost $3.88 but probably actually costs 10 cents to produce.  In the end, if it saves someone from going through all the aggravation it was worth it.

Impressions of the Bargain Priced "Squish Tips"   Ok, So a few days ago I posted a question about some tips I found on Amazon US called “Squish Tips”. Since there were quite a few replies, I thought I would let people know my impressions after a few hours of listening.   Just a little...

Quote: I don't want to hijack the thread with a conversation about Amazon Prime, but I am finding Prime to work differently than your experience.   I placed one order that included the Squish Tips, and $250 of other items and they still charged me $2.89 for shipping the foam tips.    ...

Hear a lot of great recommendations about comply foam tips, but was curious if anyone has tried the "Squish Fit" brand of foam tips with the 8320's? They are 1/3rd the price of the complys on amazon US.

    V-MODA M-80 Review

Quote: I agree that they are in no way as bass heavy as the Dre's, the Beats are in a completely different league.  The Beats bass is ridiculous if you ask me...  The bass on the M-80's was just surprisingly heavier than what I had expected.

    V-MODA M-80 Review

I have to say that I personally was a bit disappointed with the M-80's in that I read several reviews from a lot of the popular reviewers on youtube as well as here at head-fi.  My main point of frustration was that several of the reviewers did not really get into the details on the M-80's sound...
