checking on LCD 2/3 connector geometry

I don't have a stock LCD2/3 cable handy, and I wanted to check if the XLR connectors at the headphones are 3 pin or 4 pin? And what is the layout?   Thanks, Mike

type of digital cable used to connect transport to DAC

I'm mainly interested in what kind of cables you, personally, use, if you have a separate transport and DAC, so I can get a feeling for what is most common.

type of digital cable used to connect transport to DAC

Please note, I'm mainly interested in a poll of what types people are using, as well as comments about how well it works. So if you are using a digital cable, please let me know.   Mike

type of digital cable used to connect transport to DAC

For those using a separate transport and DAC with their computer, and therefore the need to route a S/PDIF cable between them, I would like to know what kind you are using and what you feel is best?   The types I'm thinking of are   optical coaxial (RCA connectors) coaxial (XLR)...

Official Los Angeles Regional Summer Meet - Saturday, July 20, 2013 Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills

I didn't register for this meet as a member of the trade, but recently there became a possibility that I could become a vendor for a headphone amp, a highly modified Bravo. Do members of the trade pay something to set up at the meet? Right now I have a table for my personal collection and I...

Official Los Angeles Regional Summer Meet - Saturday, July 20, 2013 Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills

Quote: I'm going to be bringing a modified Bravo, a little $79 headphone amp that has enough power to drive even speakers. With mods it's a gem. The only problem is that I'll need some kind of convertor from AKG K1000 4-pin XLR to 1/4" TRS. Maybe someone has one, or I can work up one.  ...

Official Los Angeles Regional Summer Meet - Saturday, July 20, 2013 Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills

People are really nice at these meets, for sure.   If you like a system, post a writeup about it! I would also encourage people to listen to items that maybe aren't so popular or "hot."

Official Los Angeles Regional Summer Meet - Saturday, July 20, 2013 Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills

I'm excited about the July 20 meet, but also, another LA meet before the end of the year would be fun. I am thinking about volunteering to organize something in the fall, maybe October or November. I've never done this before, so I don't know what I'm getting into, and I don't know who else...

IC: Los Angeles Regional Meet - July 20, 2013

Regarding studying for exams, I've always thought a day of R&R was on the whole helpful for one's performance on the test.

IC: Los Angeles Regional Meet - July 20, 2013

Quote: If I understand this correctly you are thinking of June 13 as finals week, but the proposed dates were in July. So this now a moot point, correct?   Mike

Interest Thread LA meet 2013 2 Day meet . "International Headphone Extravaganza" First Annual

You don't have to bring your gear, if you don't feel like schlepping it. But one advantage of headphone meets over speaker-system meets is that it's easy to carry headphones. It's nice. Mike

San Diego Head-Fi Meet: Saturday, November 3rd, 2012

I don't think I can make it now. It's my fault for procrastinating too much on homework and I have a big project due in a week and I can't afford to lose a Saturday (I would spend more than three hours driving each way). If things are going really well with my project I might be able to make it...

LCD-2 : anyone know what serials numbers have rev. 2 of the driver?

I ordered mine from headroom about mid-August, 2011. I've always thought they were on the dark side, but that seems to be true of all revisions and all headphones Audeze has made, judging by the FR plots. The Rev 2 is less dark than the Rev 1 by all accounts.   Mike

I said I was "tentative" but it's looking pretty good that I'll make it. However, still hoping to find someone in the San Fernando Valley area to carpool with.
