I'm mainly interested in what kind of cables you, personally, use, if you have a separate transport and DAC, so I can get a feeling for what is most common.

People are really nice at these meets, for sure.   If you like a system, post a writeup about it! I would also encourage people to listen to items that maybe aren't so popular or "hot."

You don't have to bring your gear, if you don't feel like schlepping it. But one advantage of headphone meets over speaker-system meets is that it's easy to carry headphones. It's nice. Mike

Mine has the leather headband.

I ordered mine from headroom about mid-August, 2011. I've always thought they were on the dark side, but that seems to be true of all revisions and all headphones Audeze has made, judging by the FR plots. The Rev 2 is less dark than the Rev 1 by all accounts.   Mike
