If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
Regarding bass, I had custom fit tips made for my ER-4 years ago, they seat perfectly in my ear and I do not find the bass lacking.- Bloody Ban

All my digital downloads are WAV and I never get around to converting them to FLAC or AIFF. I typically carry a couple microSD cards, so I wasn't worried about the size of WAV files.- Bloody Ban

That did not change anything. Guess I'll just have to convert to FLAC barring a response from Fiio.- Bloody Ban

That's exactly what happened to me. I was wondering if the files have illegal characters such as the parenthesis in the title, but they appear to work with FLAC versions. Awaiting an answer from Fiio support, or at least an acknowledgment that they received my request for support. I...- Bloody Ban

Okay, but if you put the WAV file in internal storage, I'm sure the WAV file would consume less power than a FLAC equivalent. It's just got to. In my mind the processor should be working twice as hard to read the FLAC file. Then again, there are a lot of wrong assumptions in my mind!- Bloody Ban

WAV should take less processing all things being equal because it doesn't have to decompress the file to play.- Bloody Ban

I was using WAV because it takes less battery than FLAC, but I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestion.- Bloody Ban

Anyone else have Led Zep Remasters I, II, III 96/24 WAV files? How are they playing with your X3? Mine don't work and I've tried everything short of asking HDTracks if I can download them again. FWIW, they play just fine when I roll back the X3 to the older firmware. I've tried contacting...- Bloody Ban

I'll try that route, though I'm surprised they worked on the older firmware, could be a coincidence though. I'm looking forward to the rest of the catalog too!- Bloody Ban

I've a Shoei Qwest. I wear Etymotic ER-4P with custom tips. Even with the 75 ohm converter, they have high output with the Fiio x3 set to low gain. It's a very efficient system and my ears don't ring since I get 25dB of isolation from the IEMs.- Bloody Ban

FiiO X3 beta firmware 3.00EX available for download. Added beta ExFAT support
Downloaded firmware 3.0 from Fiio. I am having trouble with Led Zeppelin Remasters, I, II, III. They are WAV 96/24. The Fiio X3 freezes, but didn't freeze with the last firmware, 2.1. I've played similar WAV files without issue. I've tried removing them off the SD card, putting them back on...- Bloody Ban
