ACS Encore Studio New 5 Driver CIEM!
thanks for the info. i just like having options and won't hesitate to spend a bit more to polish my CIEM's appearance, but i agree that customization is secondary to sound quality- whentheclouds

ACS Encore Studio New 5 Driver CIEM!
are these the CIEM equivalent of Alpha Dog/Paradox headphones? i checked out the order page and am a little disappointed with the low number of available colors and customization options, but i guess it's unfair to compare a smaller brand like ACS versus more established brands in this aspect- whentheclouds

Rumor: New Sennheiser Flagship to be surfaced ........ soon
following this thread has made me realize how stale the headphone scene has been in the last few years. then again it's not so surprising when a model from 2009 is still among the best money can buy. on the other hand, the (C)IEM scene has made tremendous leaps and is much more exciting to...- whentheclouds

Introducing the Aurisonics Auris
you guys brought up some great points. each setup has its respective strengths and drawbacks, and despite leaning towards the traditional CIEM route at the moment, i'll be waiting for more information about the Auris. it has been over three months since the original Kickstarter date though.. i...- whentheclouds

Introducing the Aurisonics Auris
gotcha. i'm debating between this, or a traditional CIEM with aftermarket cable that has an inline mic for use with my phone. curious to see what solution they'll provide for storing these on the go. please keep the thread updated with any new announcements coming out- whentheclouds

Introducing the Aurisonics Auris
whoops, i made the mistake of thinking 'inline' and 'built in' mean the same thing. apparently not another question: without cables, how prone are these to falling off your ears? in case of tripping, forceful contact (e.g. bumping into someone), or just getting snatched by the person sitting...- whentheclouds

Rumor: New Sennheiser Flagship to be surfaced ........ soon
in the Sony MDR-Z7 thread, there were rumours that Senn will come out with 2 new designs next year, an electrostat and a HD800 successor. since it won't be an electrostat according to you, i think people (myself included) are simply assuming it will be the HD900- whentheclouds

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
in the same vein, he is perfectly capable of remaining silent about the details of these upcoming phones. i also find it strange how an 18 year old (as your username purports) can be so disrespectful online, when you probably wouldn't talk to people in this manner IRL- whentheclouds

Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7
by 'remaster' i suspect Sony might be referring to the process of reversing dynamic range compression, rather than mp3 compression- whentheclouds

not taking personal preferences into account, is this still generally regarded as tier 1 cans? as a casual onlooker who has recently taken an interest in the development of flagship headphones, i'm getting very contrasting vibes about this particular model. the takeaway for me seems to be that...- whentheclouds

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
looks real pricy, costs about as much as a Bryston stack. there seems to be less options if you're on the market for an all in one, which is more what i'm looking for- whentheclouds

How many of you have found your endgame holy grail headphone?
lol, can you elaborate? imo, the technically "perfect" headphone should be able to 100% accurately reproduce the source without any alterations to the sound (entirely flat frequency response? like i said i don't know what a headphone's specs constitutes). whether or not that makes for...- whentheclouds

How many of you have found your endgame holy grail headphone?
good point. on the other hand, the HD800 is still considered technically superior to even today's flagships, which is unheard of in most other fields of hardware/technology. disclaimer: i have no idea what "technical superiority" entails because i don't know how to read specs- whentheclouds

How many of you have found your endgame holy grail headphone?
surprising that a headphone from half a decade ago is still the undisputed choice for many people. compared this to say, a 2014 GPU vs one from 5 years back.i also wonder when we will see a successor to the 800- whentheclouds

talk about an endorsement. as the 560 finally get its troubles sorted out and start seeing a proper release, i hope to read more impressions on how it fares against the HD800. there are few comparisons between the two right now, and most of what i've read have been rather contrasting- whentheclouds
