AKG 701's Buzzing
I had exactly the same problem with my 701s. They are nearly two years old and I first looked for a hair in the left driver but there was none. Send them to AKG service in germany and they replaced the driver and threw in some new pads. Nice service. Just got them back today. But I have no clue...- xxlMusikfreak

So...Let's Talk Classic Sport Cars!!!
If I win the lottery I would buy one of these in a heartbeat: The Wiesmann Roadster MF3. Engine and gearbox from the BMW M3 in a car weighting just above a ton. The whole interior is covered in leather and it has gorgeous looks. They are also making two GT coupes with even more HPs.- xxlMusikfreak

My New GS-1 - Loop Out Issue
It can be the fault of the receiver. Is it still distorted if you switch the receiver on? In my case the switched off receiver adds distortion (the relais are somewhat strange connected then I suppose) while the switched on (regardless of chosen input) is quiet.- xxlMusikfreak

Any Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L users?
The 17-40 is one of my main lenses. Optics are very good, even on a fullsize cam, and the ring-USM is really fast and silent. Dust and water sealing is nice too and I was in several situations where this gave me the extra security to shoot nevertheless. If you are only using 1.6 crop cameras...- xxlMusikfreak

Is there any amp for movies(DD/DTS)
I'm using a Philips SBC-HD1502U. It has anlog and digital in and can output normal Stereo or Dolby Headphone decoded signals. So you can hear 5.1 from DVDs (DTS and DD ist supported) or virtual 5.1 from stereo sources (Dolby Pro Logic). You can also get a virtual 2.0 speaker setup with this amp...- xxlMusikfreak

Voltage in Australia 220v - 240v
Most PSUs are designed to take a little band of voltages i.e. 110-130V (US and Japan I think) or 220-240V (Europe, Australia etc.). As long as the amp is used within these boundaries there is no problem normally.- xxlMusikfreak

Headamp GS-1 Owner Registry
I have one with DACT for quite a while now and I'm perfectly happy with it. It's definitely one of the best things I bought in this hobby. Can't say anything bad about it. It's beautiful to look at from outside and inside. It drives every phone I throw at it excellent and it's also a nice preamp.- xxlMusikfreak

What is: 4CH Architecture
Quote: Thought of that, but it would not work with a trs connector, the headphone shares it groundsignal in that manner . Also i am not sure if you put the 2 amps that are busy making a negative signal together, would one not short out the other? If you use your headphones balanced...- xxlMusikfreak

Smyth SVS Realiser Virtual Surround Technology for Headphones
Which inputs can the smyth box accept? I'm currently using a dedicated Dolby Headphone amp and it accepts DD and DTS signals as input. But if the smyth box would be able to use 5.1 analog in it would be great for multichannel SACD which I currently can't use with headphones. Anyone knows about...- xxlMusikfreak

Bjork Cancelled!
Man that sucks - I feel for you. Maybe you're able to get off of work anyhow. At least she does a few shows in the UK. There is not a single concert in Germany planned and she's one of the three musicians left that I would absolutely love to go to when they perform near my city.- xxlMusikfreak

Can you make out the headphone models...
The first one seems to be a SennHD414. At 1min there is a Sony V150 and at 4:10 there is either a PX100 or 200 white.- xxlMusikfreak

using an unbalanced headphone with a balanced amp
Well you can use a balanced amp with single ended cans, but not in the way you described it. The very common Neutrik jacks can accept both SE and XLR. If you wire it right inside you can either use one balanced phone or 2 SE phones. But what you should not do is connect one output of the amp...- xxlMusikfreak

using an unbalanced headphone with a balanced amp
That would destroy the whole idea behind the balanced design. And maybe even harm your amp because you would directly connect two of the signals.- xxlMusikfreak

difference between Gilmore Lite & GS-1
The 2 modules are for the two channels. If you compare the GLite board you will also identify the parts of the two modules on the board. The GS-X has four boards because of the 4 channels.- xxlMusikfreak

What amp are you HD650 guys using?
I'm using my 650 with a fully modded X-CANv3 or a GS-1 depending on the music. And for movies I'm using the Philips HD1502, a Dolby-Headphone processor for DD and DTS.- xxlMusikfreak

Why did you buy a portable amp in the first place???
I had earned some extra cash and had it on paypal already. I always liked the RS Design and I wanted to use the K271 from the iPod which is so much better with an amp. And the quality from the LOD is nice too.- xxlMusikfreak
