LOD question I am embarrassed to ask
Ok so it's been a year, have their been any new developments or products that 'unlock' the ipod's straight-up digital signal? Something that bypasses not only the internal amp but the DAC as well? I've been on sabbatical for a year, so I'm a bit rusty, please excuse me if I missed something...- spinneresque

How can I bypass the ipod DAC?
Earlier in the thread someone mentions that the DLO homedock actually takes the analog signal from the ipod and converts it to digital for output. So it's been a year, have there been any new developments that I've missed? And if the DLO thing does what it claims to do, it really is...- spinneresque

Koss Pathfinder (binaural??) thoughts?
Does anyone have any experience with these? I am curious as to whether the 'binaural' aspect of them acts as a kind of built-in crossfeed. Koss Pathfinder Binaural Earphone - PATHFINDER - Buy.com- spinneresque

Possibly fake PortaPro (Help me!)
Portapros can easily be found in so many places for cheap, why bother with ebay? buy.com, amazon, just look around I can always find them for under $35 (and I frequently look) This one took me two seconds: http://www.buy.com/prod/koss-portapr...204734548.html I've said it before and...- spinneresque

Poisoning the Next Generation
I have successfully poisoned all my friends, but I just make them more aware of good sound as opposed to the crappy headphones they are using. Then I help them find good phones for cheap like the portapros or MEE's. Then everyone is happy, and they don't catch the headphonitis that I have.- spinneresque

Koss KE29BZ, cheap and great like the portapros
Hi, they are "J" style. I don't have a bunch of my IEM's with me but can compare a bit with my atrios and my MEEE's. Will try to write something up in the next couple of days. Sounds like a fun project.- spinneresque

Koss KE29BZ, cheap and great like the portapros
I bought two pairs of these on woot last month for super cheap, and was pleasantly surprised. These are a great value like the portapros. Really comfortable like sonys. Lifetime warranty too, like the portapros. Good isolation. They are a steal for $13.99 at buy.com, also cheap at overstock and...- spinneresque

New Miller 71 Grateful Dead SBD's
Huuuuuge difference between 1973 and 1978. For the newly interested, I highly recommend sticking around 1972-1973 first, they were much more consistent. Also again, don't forget Hundred Year Hall!! Undeniable proof of the band's mystic powers. :-)- spinneresque

HD 595 amp
I think the conclusion here is, wait a little bit and try them with an amp first. You can always turn around equipment easily here on headfi if you take good care of it. :-) edit: again, I've tried the 595's with lots of budgety amps but the magical match was the Total Bithead (and I...- spinneresque

HD 595 amp
NOoooo, the 595's gain a lot from amping... they just don't *need* it as much as other headphones do, the HD600 for example. Did you get to try the 595's with your EMU, Poetik? They sound significantly better, but the 595's and the Total Bithead are a magical match. Don't be so quick to let...- spinneresque

Meelectronics cheapies, amazing for the price
Ok so I tested out the M2's and the M6's with my Fiio3. The M2's sound amazing and the difference with this baby amp is huge. As I said, the M2's really need amplification to shine, and shine they do. The M6's sound at least as good if not better, I haven't listened long enough to really know...- spinneresque
