NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

I demoed a pair today at my local store. They were quite uncomfortable on my head. I have too pointy ears for these. My UE6000 are much more comfortable and they don't fall that much behind in sound quality either.

    New Jecklin Float QA !!!

It would also be interesting to know if Precide made a special A.M.T. driver for the Ergo or is it just taken from one of their speakers.   Speaking of speakers... I would really like to hear a pair of them some time. Especially the Kithara seems interesting.

    New Jecklin Float QA !!!

I think I have made these points already previously in this thread but I can't stay quiet. I was so excited with these precide Ergo headphones in the past.   I have owned both Ergo 2 and A.M.T. I actually somewhat preferred Ergo 2 to the A.M.T. Speed and detail was amazing with A.M.T. but...

    Meier Audio Daccord

I received my DACCORD yesterday. It's a nice device and I can't find anything to complain. I can't hear much difference compared to my already sold Matrix mini-i DAC but that doesn't mean that there isn't any. DACCORD definitely isn't worse :)   I bought the DACCORD mainly because of the...

[REVIEW] Logitech UE9000 - Ultimate Ears HEADPHONES Released! The UE4000, UE6000 and the UE9000 - Impressions Thread

Quote: Oh Boy,   There are many things that are to be said about cables affecting the sound quality; and event more things to say about the cable burn in.   Are you sure you aren't just justifying the cost by saying that the they need a lot of time to burn in. Maybe it's just your...

    New Jecklin Float QA !!!

Quote: I've done just this with my AMT. I have a relatively nice Pioneer GR-777 EQ. The fact is that AMT is not going to give you deep bass no matter how much you EQ it. Lowering the response around 2 - 4 kHz, however, helps a lot. It makes AMT much more easy listening. Otherwise there is...

[REVIEW] Logitech UE9000 - Ultimate Ears HEADPHONES Released! The UE4000, UE6000 and the UE9000 - Impressions Thread

Quote: They will sound just fine. Only problem might be that they are not loud enough. My rockboxed sansa clip+ has just enough power to play them loud enough. I don't believe there will be any sound quality improvements with some fancy portable amps. They will just play louder. Somebody...

Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared)

    Orthodynamic Roundup

Quote: Thanks for the sympathy. I tried to do some repairs but it went worse and is beyond repair now :) This has been a good learning experience for me! Well, I'm enjoying my AMT at the moment and try to forget what happened this morning. I'm sure I will find some spares somewhere someday...

    Orthodynamic Roundup

Quote: Nice to hear that I'm not the only one screwing things up. Please let me know if you run into a spare membrane. I will also contact the guy who sold me these and ask if he has one spare.   I should have glued the magnets. They pulled themselves out of their sockets and cut the...

    Orthodynamic Roundup

Quote: Thanks TiEx for these tips. I'm driving the TDS-7 with my KingRex speaker amp which I believe is just fine with the 8 ohm load.   I have seen those open pack mod picks in some Russian forum but I don't want to go that far. I'm not willing to cut any holes to the structure.   ...

    Orthodynamic Roundup

I have owned TDS-7 headphones for a while now and would like to share some thoughts with all you who are interested in orthos.   First of all I have to say that these are the only orthos that I have owned so I really can't compare to them to other orthos. I have owned quite a few dynamic...

[REVIEW] Logitech UE9000 - Ultimate Ears HEADPHONES Released! The UE4000, UE6000 and the UE9000 - Impressions Thread

Quote: DT1350 has much better treble extension and more controlled bass. UE6000 is much warmer sounding and easier to the ears but bass is more loose. UE6000 is much more comfortable than DT1350 and more portable as well (opinions may wary regarding the portability!).   DT1350 might...

[REVIEW] Logitech UE9000 - Ultimate Ears HEADPHONES Released! The UE4000, UE6000 and the UE9000 - Impressions Thread

Quote: I would use these mainly at the office. I happen to fly quite a lot so that's why I need some NC. I don't mind if the sound is not as good with NC on. Main thing is to reduce the annoying rumble of the engines and enjoy some music.

[REVIEW] Logitech UE9000 - Ultimate Ears HEADPHONES Released! The UE4000, UE6000 and the UE9000 - Impressions Thread

I just ordered UE 6000 from Apple Store for 199€. I will let you know how they compare to my other two sealed cans: Denon AH-D5000 (Lawton mod 1 and angle pads) and Beyerdynamics DT1350.   I hope these will replace my DT1350. I like the Beyers but I would appreciate the added benefit of...

    New Beyer DT1350

Quote: I happen to fly quite a lot and I have to say that these things suck on the airplane. There is not enough isolation. Of course they kick ass compared to the ones that you get form the flight attendants but that's not saying much.   Of course this all depends on how good the seal...

FLAC to AAC vs. WAV to AAC

    New Jecklin Float QA !!!

Quote: Well there are different kind of transformer boxes. The one that comes with Ergo AMT is only a passive notch filter with cheap capacitors and coils inside. It's designed to lower the response on upper mid frequencies. It actually sounds quite bad. I use mine with Pioneer GR-777...

FLAC to AAC vs. WAV to AAC

Just convert AAC straight from FLAC. No loss of SQ there compared to other alternatives. Remember to store those FLACs after the conversion.
